Seriously it's fucking over. It's impossible to make friends let alone a gf once you're out of school.

Tried it.
The "fanbase" if you want to call it that was incredibly insufferable.
Literally every single one was a vegan, leftist hippie type who wants to smash the fash and live an alternative lifestyle, they hate capitalism, volunteer, want to save nature and protest for minorities sake.
Then you come to find out their lifestyle is completely financed by their rich parents and they are upper-class people who never knew real struggle.
It was quite a disconnect.

Its fucking great, one of the best all round things for longevity and tons of fun. Indoor bouldering is cheap to get into, climbing you can be chucking a couple of grand into rope and gear but you will be doing indoor climbing which is as cheap as going to the gym before you decide to go outdoors properly,

sperganon, you dont just walk around outside expecting people to run up to you like "omg, is that you, random anon?!? wow i wanna be your friend now for no reason!!!" youve got to actually do something, you know. get a hobby that involves people that you can easily mingle with. seeing as this is a climbing and bouldering thread, it is an excellent hobby to make friends. just do some climbing and people will watch you and help you out and you can stand around and watch other people too and just mingle. ive made some great friends from climbing myself.

Climb your normal session, try your V6es. Then when you're out of strength and energy, climb a bunch of V4s without any breaks inbetween, then a bunch of V3s, V2s, keep climbing until even a V1 requires you to do the kind of moves you usually only need to do for V6.

Don't stop until you literally fall of the wall. Just look walk up, look at the final hold, put your hands on the wall.

There's a bouldering gym near me.
It's actually pretty fun, it's a good forearm and grip workout too.

It's rather expensive for what it is though so I rarely go.

its crazy how much a few kg makes a difference in climbing. i remember when i went from 90kg to 85kg and how much of a difference that made when i was climbing. i was really demoralized from climbing in the past when i was fat as fuck at 110kg. i hated it and felt weak as fuck, when it was just my weight that was holding me back like crazy.

Gets me out of my apartment a few times a week. I do my regular workouts at my work gym but the climbing gym I go to has some good stuff I like to do my deadlifts there now. But I'm in the 3's range. Right now I'm pretty bad at the tiny grips where you have to just use your fingertips so I gotta maybe start training the hang board. I try and go at least 2 or 3 times a week so I'm at least getting my monies worth. Smells like feet but you stop noticing after like a minute. Everyone is generally pretty nice, haven't had any problems with anybody. I'm not there for peoples fucking life story I'm just trying to climb and so are they and its great.

Anything talc adjacent can. I mean that figuratively and literally. Silicates often form in layers you'll have talc asbestos and a bunch of other silicates all sandwiched together and they look alike so it's easy to dig too far and get the wrong one.

I've done bouldering for years, definitely an enthusiast and I'm 40 with a family, been doing construction my whole life and generally conservative. So blue collar to the max. Nature preservation comes with the territory, where the fuck are you going to climb if some monopoly man builds a hotel over the local climbing spot? There's a happy medium in between being politically on the right but not a mouth-breathing retard.

Iโ€™m fascinated by the concept of climbing. Itโ€™s one of the few forms of resistance training which isnโ€™t lifting, yet you can get decent size gains in your core, back, and forearms without ever lifting a single weight and without it feeling like work, it just feels fun. I canโ€™t think of anything to compare it to in terms of muscle growth aside from lifting itself. Swimming isnโ€™t effective enough, wrestling requires you have other people, boxing is basically just cardio, gymnastics is very physically and mentally fatiguing, ect.

Itโ€™s an avenue for guys that feel like lifting is too tedious, difficult, and boring. Youโ€™re not going to get huge, but itโ€™s literally the best compromise one could make if you still wanted to get some gains without all the effort associated with lifting. Maybe throw in some weighted pull-ups and dips you do at home a couple days a week, and youโ€™re goin to get a decent physique with basically no effort.

You do realize we don't live under Adam Smith's capitalism right? His creation of capitalism is strongest of the fittest but with gov preventing monopolies from forming. We live under a neo-feudal facist liberalisms thanks to private entities that control the money supply

srsly tho if you go to the rock gym you will make friends. every climber who's done it for more than three weeks is an expert and will go out of their way to talk to you about your grip and body positioning.

Yeah the price can be a real motivation killer depending on the area/country. Especially if its not easily continued outside after getting the basics down indoors or if you prefer indoors.

Did you get back to climbing after losing weight? (cheers for the unfattening :3)

They might have traces of silica deliberately added or left in if it's a smooth powder without chunks. At least that's the usual anti caking agent for table salt. That Vienna university group could probably repeat the study with silica, microplastics or glass fibers from the holds, but I don't think they would be able to make as strong of a case for those.

You could join an irl community. It's like a discord server but the server is located in a specific place, like a climbing gym, or an MMA gym, or a dance studio. Instead of gamer tags people use their real names. And the games don't use keyboards and mice. There's usually tutorials and people are generally pretty nice to the newbies.
