Whay are actually doing for calves? Like 6-10 sets with 10 to 20 reps each, twice a week, should be more than enough. Calf size is genetics 80% of the time.

easy - gastrocnemius grows from heel-hook
heel-hook is when u point toees and bend knee
so ya lie on your back in front of table, u place heels on table and point toes and lift your lower body up by bending knees

yes, i have brough calf raises to muscular failure 100 times over both with straight and bent knee - it just overstrains quad which has to oppose gastrocnemius bending ankle in conjuction with soleus, it doesn't noticeably grow calves
heelhook made the difference immediately, the next day they looked different, and no i didn't need to go to muscular failure either

Walking with barefoot shoes (you'll stop heel strikes and actually use your calves for shock absorption very quickly), cycling, you know, humanoid activities that actually use those. They need a fuckton of volume, that's why aside from genetics it's the fat fucks that still walk that get the big calves.

Just carry something heavy while walking. In my teen, I always carried 10-15kg backpack(normal for Asian btw) my right calf peaked at 45cm of pure muscles. In exchange my height stopped at 167cm so consider this if you are a teenager.

I grew mine just by walking barefoot around the house for years, while trying not to touch the floor with my heel. It was weird at first, but now walking the other way feels weird. Shoes fucking suck

Calves needs to be treated like a bitch longer than other muscles
My calves poped noticeably when i started biking, especialy uphill
Im euro bikefag so i ride it everywhere anyway so it was easy for me
You just do normal calf rises and then uou go biking somewhere with elevations and ride standing not siting and kill these bitches

If you sowly walk on predictable ground, you'll automatically kinda heelstrike, only not as excessive as in shoes.
If you walk faster, uneven terrain or run you'll automatically kinda tiptoe land and adjust, only not as excessive as unexperienced toddlers do.
No functioning person will tiptoe on their living room carpet except for fun or heelstrike walking down a steep asphalt street for long.
