Is it a good idea to get a used 4070 Super for 500 euro while I wait for the market to settle down here in Europe? My 1080 is just too old now, 5000 series is too expensive, 4070 Ti Supers are unfindable below 800 euro. My plan is to get the 4070S for 500 now and resell it for 250-300 in like 2028-29 when hopefully Nvidia will have a midrange 6000 card or AMD will have upped their game.

Make sure you update the BIOS to tame the PBO current delivery, board is good.
You might have to downclock that EXPO/XMP memory speed down to 6000 or 6200MT/s if your CPU's memory controller can't run it in 1:1 mode.
It's a decent memory kit.

There will not be a super refresh. All customer-tier Blackwell SKUs is what Nvidia is going provide for its lifecycle. You will have wait until Blackwell's successor for a refresh. Nvidia is just slowly but surely moving away discrete gayming GPUs into ML/AI, general compute ASICs. The only graphical stuff that will remain are professional SKUs and rejects that get sold as gayming SKUs for hobbyists (gimped VRAM capacity to prevent them from use in production)

what did you have installed before the new gpu, did you have any issues with it?
do you have the latest bios for the mobo?
that mobo has gen 3 pci yet you are using gen 2 why is that
you complain about amd drivers yet you are still having issues with a different card
im 99% sure its either something else (psu, mobo, ram) or skill issue
what edition of windows you have?
version doesnt matter, if you have the newest version but home edition then its retarded
if i were you i would try some windows live cd and test stuff, whatever windows abomination you have installed is probably fucked by now too
tldr just format and install win10 lstc and start from scratch, if you still have issues there then its 100% a hardware issue (outside gpus)

You have the 9950x3d? You can use "x3d" mode to disable half your cores and cut your power draw down. You can also undervolt. There are tutorials online but I'll try to explain. You can offset the core in bios by a certain amount of voltage. negative .15v on the core offset is generally good for lowering temps. Undervolt it by doing a negative 10 curve optimizer. then do 15. then try 20. each time you undervolt further you should stress test your CPU to see if it's stable with like Cinebench or something. Your PC will crash and reboot if it's unstable but it will be fine. -30 curve optimizer is generally considered aggressive. Check out some tutorials. If you fuck up, you'll just need to clear the CMOS or at worst reflash your BIOS. Good luck! I have a 9950x3d undervolted -25 with an OC +200mhz and I get 5800mhz on my single core for games while only pulling 70 to 100watts while playing a game. I love how power efficient you can tweak your rig, I can get obssessed over adjusting voltages. You also won't lose much performancee either if you really get into it.

>>105577500
>You guys all disable it, right?
My MSI x870e automatically disables the IGPU when it detects a video card in the slot. Helps if you have an issue with the video card and you're unable to get into your integrated graphics.

Burn-in is cumulative regardless of content displayed. It's just that static content burns in to localized areas in a set pattern/shape you can readily discern so it'll stand out more sooner. In reality, if you let the monitor run compensation cycles like it's supposed to, don't use 100% MAX Brightness all the time, use the screen-save power-off feature when you are AFK, auto-hide the taskbar etc, you can expect MANY YEARS of use before even faint burn-in becomes noticeable and OEMS all have 3-year explicit burn-in warranties anyway so you're guaranteed at least 6 years of useful life out of one if you cash-in the policy toward the end of the the model's warranty period.

I'd pay a little more for the ASUS strix. ROG Strix is nicer but you have to deal with ASUS bullshit like their support. Also, ASUS pulls stupid shit like not allowing you to have 3 m.2 drives without disabling x8 of your lanes to your GPU. Look up GPU lane sharing + your model of mobo you're buying on Youtube. Some guy did a bunch of vids on GPU Lane sharing for a bunch of popular boards.

I'd get the CL26 kit. Lower latency is better and that isn't much more either. Get yourself something nice for the money.

In practice, they have 20 lanes because 4 of them are use for connection to PCH(s). Some are used for USB4 and USB3 controllers that often ride off the CPU's PCIe controller.
The big catch with X870/X870E is the mandatory USB4 that eats up 4 PCIe lanes. Unlike its X670E/X670 predecessor.
Again kiddo, desktop platform on both camps have finite PCIe lanes that you need RTFM to determine how you can mapped your resources.
If you need more PCIe lanes for your use case, you are going to bite the workstation platform bullet. In practice, this is a non-issue for 99% of desktop users.

USB4 eat up x2 lanes with x2 wasted lanes and they are only mandatory on X870 boards.
B850, B650/E and X670/E boards have more than enough lanes. In practice, you can get boards with these chipsets that have one x16 gpu slot, two x4 cpu connected M.2. slots and one or two x4 chipset connected M.2. slots so they never have to share bandwidth with each other, "kiddo"

The innovation needed for dedicated wind duct designs to work is some kind of modular stretchy divider system to separate things on the motherboard without a riser cable. It wouldn't matter that the seal is not anywhere airtight, just having most of the air be forced into a general direction will do the job.
