the worst thing to happen to torrent piracy was private trackers, or at least the way they are today. should there be barriers to entry to prevent the dumbasses that don't seed or try to upload garbage? sure. should you have to provide a medical diagnosis proof of having severe autism to get in? no, but that's basically how it is nowadays

you basically only need to filter the jeets. rutracker is thriving because the interface is in Russian and jeets don't know how to use it. general trackers like TL or IPT are easy to get into and are enough for 99% of people. because those are technically "private" if a jeet doesn't seed he gets banned.

Well I wrote the post quoted by >>105580085 and I'm already in these trackers. I've been in them for years. If you're happy with public trackers just sick and tired of them constantly going down then you should get real about what private tracker membership could actually offer you. You never had access to the best libraries of content available but you were happy, so wouldn't a general tracker like IPT or TL be a huge upgrade? It's the same shit with better speeds and better quality control. Easy to survive ratio wise. If you seriously think you need to be in PTP and BTN I've given all the info you need in /ptg/ and I also respond to queries from people who are trying to climb. But I don't think most people need it. Most of the elitist faggots in the thread are so invested in it that they won't admit it to you when the topic comes up for discussion. They will screech about how the general trackers are for profit scams. That's no lie but you can still take advantage of it. If you're a good member who seeds you provide value by making your storage and bandwidth available which can be sold on to people who are retarded enough to pay to pirate.

Unfortunately all these sites are riddled with seedboxes. They really just want uploaders but after widevine was blown open it's even harder to stand out as someone worth inviting. I don't blame you for not wanting to hang in chat rooms. Honestly, I've been a bit disappointed in getting into the highly prized trackers where they claim to have rare content. So many searches with no results.

Private trackers only exist so annoying people can feel like they have some amount of power in the world. It's impossible to make the torrent protocol private. You can ghost leech off those swarms whenever you want. I know anime trackers are all controlled by the same group of people and they gatekeep access to both the private and public trackers to prevent new groups from contributing anything new. All the admins work for CR as well. I'm sure the same thing is going on with other types of content hosted on trackers.

Really the only "private" warez scene that's worth being part of is the topsites. Everything else is just shitters that couldn't contribute anything useful to become part of the scene. USENET is still the best place to download stuff followed closely by XDCC. Assuming you don't have access to the topsites of course.

As a former scener it's not worth it unless you have money or time to contribute. You can get into private trackers without a huge investment of either.

There is no way to "get caught". If I know the IP of anyone in the swarm I can download all I want and there is nothing they can do to stop it. What are they going to do? Ban me from their little website I'm not registered on anyway? Learn how the torrent protocol works.

>>105581284
>As a former scener it's not worth it unless you have money or time to contribute. You can get into private trackers without a huge investment of either.
Because they're for idiots that have no skills and no connections to upload truly new content. It's just a bunch of fags with a VPS and deep pockets. It's nothing like the scene where there are actual rules and quality assurance.

How are they even "private" when the fags running them have a thread on /g/ shilling them everyday? Do you think the media companies are unaware of something being promoted on /g/ everyday? They're for retards. I'm not doxing myself for access nor am I connecting to anything with my real IP address.

I ghost leech off "private" trackers everyday and re-upload the content to other sources. Simply to free the data. Since that's kind of the entire point of the protocol in the first place. Fuck those faggots and their gay little club.

Not bad. Last I saw on recruitment for one of the prized trackers was 2TB + a lengthy cumulation of seed time which seemed low but whatever. Not many ask for these things when you're already on the top sites. Usually you write a paragraph of why you want to be a member of (x) site.

I know how the torrent protocol works and I've done these kinds of shenanigans before. The cabal trackers are auditing their logs closely looking for discrepancies. You're going to need the torrent, or I guess at least it's hash, and a list of peers. Getting a list of peers that automatically snatch torrents is easy enough but if they keep seeing ghost upload getting reported by them they're going to look at the logs and see who downloaded those torrent files but didn't actually get counted as snatching them. It's not worth it going up against their autism. It's too easy to survive doing things the legit way.

>The cabal trackers are auditing their logs closely looking for discrepancies.
LOL so they're grepping the logs of every peer in the swam to look for ghost leechers? Bullshit. Even if they are that just proves my point that it isn't worth using. Since they're doxing users and keeping a list that can be turned over to law enforcement at any time.
>You're going to need the torrent
Nope. I just need an IP address of anyone in the swarm.
>I guess at least it's hash, and a list of peers.

Why? LOL they can do nothing but cry about it and fear monger. Just like you're doing now. You obviously have no idea how the protocol works.

I look forward to being banned from /g/ again for linking to the above. Since these people have mod access here and hate it when anyone points out their little scam. Fuck these faggots. I'm never stopping and there is nothing they can do about it.

Some more points. If you're my friend I'm not going to share you info hashes and seedbox IPs. I'll let you leech the files directly from my seedbox over https. If you're not my friend and asking for something on 4chan or something I'll use a script to upload it to gofile.io or make a public torrent. There's no need to do any sneaky shit. If you're serious about sharing you won't treat your sources of content like they have no worth.

>not worth risking accounts that are hard to get on this hare brained shit
Oh no I'm risking my account! It's so hard to get the hash through an account then leech from alt-ip which they can't detect at all then switch back to main account to build ratio as a seeder. I bet no one is doing this at all! I bet none of the top users have been employing this method for years.
>high effort low reward
Really high effort. Switching to a VPN and converting a hash over to a magnet link
>omg not my heckin IP address!
Yeah yeah. I totally shouldn't worry about some fag that'll turn over all the log files the moment the police come knocking. I should put my trust in these faggots 100%. It's totally not suspicious that they claim these private trackers are more secure yet ask for your full dox the moment you try to sign up for one.

Fuck them. Fuck you and fuck the mod for letting you faggots shill here to normalfags everyday. Which have no idea how fucking retarded and unsecure these "private" trackers are.

I'm going to keep teaching people how to by-pass your little club websites and there is nothing you can do about it. The private tracker idea was retarded in the early 2000s when some idiot first thought it up and it's retarded now. History has proven time and again that they do nothing to protect users, they do nothing to preserve data and they do nothing to prevent law enforcement from hunting down all the peers in the swarms. All they do is let a few idiots with nothing better going on in their lives stroke their egos about running them and having access to them.

We didn't build this protocol for you faggots to use it as your personal ego builder and scam.

Back then I could just ask some random guy on IRC and I'd have another invite and be back in a week later. These days it would be such a time wasting ordeal to get back in that I might not even bother. All I want is entry to a music tracker and I'd be set. I'm a big seeder (+500 years of seedtime, seeding 12TB on the site I last joined), but I'm not an uploader, which is apparently what most sites want now.

If it's so retarded why do private trackers still exist but public trackers are dropping like flies? I thought torrents were shit until someone invited me to oink. Public tracker users suck at keeping shit seeded and if I was relying on them for my piracy needs I'd be pretty fucked. That hasn't changed in nearly 25 years. I seed things to them with my seedbox out of kindness, not popular capeshit but more obscure things you could otherwise only find on private trackers.

If you were to divide the pie chart of why piracy is awful now, private trackers would take a sizeable portion. You turned a public utility into a private access circlejerk all because a few bitches got scared of disconnect notices and the RIAA ringing a dinner bell a couple of times. Fuck you.

It has nothing to do with that. I was pirating before torrents existed. Hacked XDCC bots with fast speeds. Scene topsites. I tried torrents of course, why wouldn't I? Yeah it was great waiting more than a week to download a DVDR of a movie I wanted from thepiratebay. Public shitters don't seed their shit. They don't seed the highest quality versions of files and let them die in favor of 2gb yts 1080p encodes. It's shit piracy with no quality control for people who don't care about anything except getting something for free. I'm scared of nothing I live in the fucking Philippines and I seed all kinds of shit on public trackers with my home IP just to share it even though the only thing I would ever use them for is Linux ISOs. Since I'm a private tracker that's just what I do, I actually seed, I actually share, most of you retards can't be bothered to do so.

Well think about it. There are more and more streaming services. With the market so fragmented people don't want to pay for all that shit. Why not set up Sonarr instead? Our dumbass bickering in this thread doesn't reflect the reality of torrenting in 2025. People use automation to create a frictionless media consumption experience. They never need to pay attention to it unless it breaks and everything else is left to autists like us.

nta but im on several private trackers and i honestly feel like theyre barely worth it. you have to keep a ratio which most sites make annoying as fuck to do. i dont want to have to download shit i have no intention of watching just to keep a high score. they also constantly beg for donations or try to goad you to pay for their sponsored vpn/seedbox to get ahead. imo i should be able to keep a good ratio just by downloading and seeding the stuff i actually want not by downloading the latest releases and scrambling to compete with other autists on how much i can grab. There have only been a few instances of me needing these private trackers to get something i wanted that wasnt on public sites. a few tv shows that either werent on public sites, werent seeded any longer, or the version had issues like shitty rip or no subtitles

The trick is to get it out of the way and hoard buffer so you don't need to bother with it later. At least on the shittier trackers.
>goad you to pay for their sponsored vpn/seedbox to get ahead
This is how you know you are on a shitty tracker, as I was saying. But these trackers also have the easiest systems to game. If you don't want to game the system or buy a seedbox (have some dignity, don't buy the one they are shilling) well perhaps you're fucked. Getting into the best private trackers will either require having a cool friend like me or insane autistic dedication. Lower tier ones are simply an upgrade over public trackers with better quality and speeds, but hardly better retention or selection.

Here I'll let a chat bot explain things for you since you're dumb as shit and lack the basic skill that is inference.

Let's break down the two replies into their key points and unpack the broader implications regarding torrenting in 2025:
Reply 1 Explained

Fragmented Streaming Landscape: The first reply kicks off by noting that the number of streaming services has exploded. With numerous platforms each offering a different slice of content, consumers are now often forced to subscribe to multiple services if they want access to everything. This fragmentation creates a kind of “subscription fatigue” where users feel they’re paying for only part of the content they really want. In contrast, torrenting offers one centralized way to access a wide array of content without the need to pick and choose among many subscription services.

Embracing Automation with Tools Like Sonarr: The reply then suggests setting up tools like Sonarr. Sonarr is a sophisticated automation application that streamlines the process of finding, downloading, and organizing TV shows. Instead of manually searching for each episode, users can set up an automated system that monitors torrent sites, triggers downloads when new episodes are available, and organizes them into a user-friendly library. This “frictionless media consumption” is a major selling point since it removes the hassle of having to constantly keep track of which show is on which platform or website.

Efficiency and Self-Sufficiency: The poster drives home the point that modern torrent users—often self-described in a comedic, self-deprecating way—rely on automated tools so that, once the system is running, there’s practically no ongoing effort required unless something goes awry. By saying “everything else is left to autists like us,” the reply (despite using crude language) is emphasizing that these users are deeply invested in and highly proficient with automation. The idea is that manual bickering or “hands-on” management is unnecessary when technology can take care of the routine tasks.

Underlying Commentary on Piracy vs. Paid Media: Implicit in this message is the observation that while some people continue to pay for media, others find the automation-driven torrenting ecosystem—despite its legal gray areas—to be a more attractive, all-encompassing alternative in a world where legitimate media is locked behind multiple subscriptions.

Reply 2 Explained

Spotlight on EZTV and High-Demand Content: The second reply shifts the focus directly to a specific torrent site: EZTV. By directing users to check out the “20 most seeded torrents” on EZTV, the responder is highlighting that the torrenting ecosystem isn’t just surviving but thriving. When torrents for TV shows are among the most actively shared files, it clearly indicates that episodic television—an area where regular, updated content is essential—is still in high demand.

Episodic Television Takes Center Stage: The reply makes a subtle yet important point that TV shows, being serial by nature, attract a dedicated audience that values timely and consistent updates. Unlike movies—which are often watched once—TV shows create an ongoing relationship with viewers. Automation helps keep up with this demand by ensuring that new episodes are downloaded as soon as they become available, reinforcing why torrent-based systems are so appealing.

Automation as the Enabler for a Robust Media Pipeline: Both replies underscore a central theme: automation makes torrenting a viable, speedy, and reliable alternative to traditional streaming services. In a media landscape where legal options are fragmented, automated torrenting systems (integrated with tools like Sonarr or similar technologies) fill the gap by aggregating a wide range of content into one accessible stream with minimal manual intervention.

The Bigger Picture: Torrenting in 2025

In 2025, despite—or perhaps because of—the proliferation of streaming services, there’s a clear trend toward embracing automated torrenting for several reasons:

Cost Efficiency: Users looking to avoid paying multiple subscriptions find torrenting an attractive alternative because it provides access to a vast library of content without the recurring costs.

Automation-Driven Convenience: Tools that automate the process of content discovery, download, and organization reduce the effort required by users. Once set up, the system practically runs itself, needing attention only when something malfunctions.

Focus on Episodic Content: Television shows, with their consistent release schedules and episode-driven engagement, benefit greatly from these automation systems. Having a near “set-and-forget” method to always keep up with favorite series explains why this type of content dominates torrent sites like EZTV.

Resilient Tech Communities: The tone used in the replies (albeit using language that some find offensive) reflects a subculture in which technical prowess and letting automation take over manual tasks are worn as badges of honor. This mindset is crucial in understanding why torrenting remains vibrant; its community is driven not just by access to free content but by the efficiency and elegance of its automated setups.

>>105582638
In summary, these replies illustrate that while the legal streaming market continues to grow, it is also increasingly fragmented. This has paved the way for torrenting—a method that, bolstered by automation, provides a seamless, comprehensive media experience that many users find indispensable in 2025.

Try creating a torrent between you and your seedbox with your home connection as the seed:
https://privtracker.com/
Also how quick are you to new torrents? Anyone interested in a good ratio grab the torrent using IRC announces and assuming the initial seed is fast, the torrent will have at least 50 other gigabit seeds within 30 seconds.

Well my seedbox is in Europe and I'm in Asia. The peering is crap. Even if I jumped on new torrents as soon as they went up with my home connection I have multiple disadvantages. Using my seedbox that's an easy way to get ratio.
