Roboticist here - the big hurdle for robot waifus isn't the hardware or software tech progression, it's safety, not AI safety, but just at a basic level - for a biped that is ~150lbs 5'4 to even stand up at all, the leg and hip actuators have to be stronger than your average home shop drill press, any problem with motor control, sensing, or the model could vaporize your dick in an instant.

As a child I was regularly mistreated by female family members, and their female friends. As a result I have a hard time trusting or even feeling comfortable around women. A robot wife wouldn't be an issue in this regard.
