you could explain 5000 different things android does "better" and iphone users wouldnt care at all, they are borderline a cult
>>105584687 (OP)>Why are they so popularIt's how the operating system behaves and how cohesive is the experience with other applel devices.
Plus, they're only popular in the US and Japan, in the rest of the world iphone is second place to android.
>>105584890>y'know when girls say android gives them the ick, it's because iphones do offer you ~genuine~ quality of life of actual worthwhile features you use everyday over android. But they can’t articulate that
>>105584687 (OP)> what can it do that android can'tGet a firmware update that also doesn't install bloatware like candy crush without my permission.
There are a lot of people like me who would love to switch to Android, but I'm not giving Google all my personal contacts and putting up with their gay jewish hyper-monetization practices. At least when Apple spies on me, they don't make it so fucking inconvenient.
It's not a question of a simple bullet point list of features on paper, it's about the experience and the overall feel. It's like saying why get a lexus when you can just get a hyundai with the same features. iPhones are frequently praised for their comprehensive support, encompassing everything from a vast array of cases and travel features to integrated health and wallet functionalities. This ecosystem also offers superior software and app polish, often appearing prettier and operating more securely, which fosters familiarity for both personal and professional use. A key differentiator lies in Apple's better first-party peripherals like the Watch and AirPods, alongside a strong emphasis on privacy and a lack of bloatware. Users benefit from longer software support, excellent resale value, and the excitement surrounding keynotes, ensuring day-one, seamless updates and robust Apple Store support. The iPhone experience is enhanced by easier family features, better options for non-WhatsApp users, and reliable iCloud backups and syncing, with first-party apps more seamlessly integrated. Furthermore, Apple excels in accessibility features, photo offloading, and innovative technologies like satellite messaging, MagSafe, and private email and relay. Unique functionalities like AR capabilities (lidar, measure, level), the customizable camera control button, built-in visual voicemail, the dynamic island, and the extensive Find My network further solidify the iPhone's distinct advantages.

Anyway, both and ALL at the point 'smart phones' are running some variant of Unix, which of course was developed by AT&T wayyy back in the day so any backdoor mentions apply to all machines of the like. SO on and so on, smartphones are old shit at this point and I'm not as impressed with them as I was almost 2 decades ago. Fine devices, Apple iPhones. I have not used any of the 'premium' Android devices so I can't comment on their potential. Blah blah blah...
Hardware, iMessage, app ecosystem, iOS at least gives the impression of security and that Apple isn't going to sell your data. Pixel hardware is usually nice and they can't do much about iMessage adoption, but I don't trust Google at all about privacy. Also I always recommend Apple to older people and those not into tech because it's much harder to hose an iOS install. If you've ever helped an older person with their Android phone it's a fucking disaster half the time with launcher replacements injecting ads everywhere and making the phone unusable. I've also noticed that older folks are very confused by Google's cloud storage system.

>>105598926>samsung 100% comes with a bunch of bloatware that needs to be disabled.Only on the cheap ones, I didn't have a single bloatware app on my S25 Ultra
>i've owned a galxaxy and that, along with locked bootloader, were the main things i fucking hated about that phone.>and the retarded bixby button that can't be remapped to another functionality. That's from the Galaxy S8/S9 series 9 and 8 year old phones, you could remap those btw.
>at least google pixels you can use a real OS like graphene. You can't do that on an iPhone, why is this a comparison basis for Androids where Androids score lower then?
>>105600260>Only on the cheap onesIf I can afford flagship samsung, why don’t I just buy an iphone lol? Use your brain.
>>105598628>So what? Phones are technology, not jewellery.Smartphones are literally the modern day equivalent of hand watches for normies.
>>105600269So it's not even a comparison on merits but some arbitrary status that is created by lifestyle advertisement for normies and retards.
Got it, you're retarded.
>>105584687 (OP)Undo
It's really annoying that this is completely overlooked on Android, it literally doesn't exist on phones. The feature is implemented, so if you have a keyboard connected, ctrl z works, but there's no interface for it on phones. On an iPhone, you can shake the phone to undo.
This is the only thing I miss about the iPhone.
my iphone SE 2020 with its 3 GB of RAM
is still smooth as fuck. can you imagine an android phone with 3 GB ? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

>>105600366>More made up bullshitMy android shows 10 second undo timer, much more convenient than jerking off the phone.
>>105584687 (OP)There are entire categories of applications where the worst option on iOS is better than the best option on Android.
keep the old apps in their fucking app store, unlike jewgle who keeps removing old apps.
For example, Wayward Souls.
Above all else they look and feel better, the software is vastly superior, all part of a coherent ecosystem of interconnected things, the iPhone itself is just one part of a broader, coherent ecosystem; if you use a Mac, the iPhone and its software are more seamlessly connected with your computer than with an Android and Windows, let alone Linux. Microsoft and Google just buy other projects and rebrand them, nothing works together, nothing is coherent, it's an annoying mess. The appeal of the iPhone is that it feels purposefully designed, not cheap and idiotic.

A way to say "Im not poor"
they "just werk"
I used to keep up with all the android news about "oooh more ram", "oooh better display" and spend time choosing potential upgrade, but then after I cracked my nokia 8 screen I decided to try iphone
never even considered going back since
I have a cheap crap android phone for lunix functionality that I occasionally need which isn't available on iphone like wifi spectrum analysis, but iphone covers 100% day to day with ease
it's funny how in US the iphone is under a microscope in all the news drama about any flaws, "you're holding it wrong" etc., while literally nobody gives a shit or highlights any of myriad of problems with androids (until they start exploding of course)
>>105598453You're literally me. I feel like a normie using my new iPhone.
>>105584687 (OP)>What can an iPhone do that Android can't?iPhones are far better at being unserviceable and locked down at software/hardware level. If the computer hardware and software had always been lockdown as it is today, it would have been impossible for many international corpofaggot companies of today like Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia etc. to begin their business journeys. They all took something that was already available and rushed to develop it further into proprietary monopoly for profit. Anyways, the point I'm trying to make is that the instawhores, homosexuals and browns prefer Apple products.

>>105598611yeah try biting on a mango, asshole
>>105602546this isn't true at all
app developers tend to release paid or subscription apps because crapple keeps forcing them to update their apps to use newer APIs and libraries, no app can stay in the app store indefinitely without needing updates
as you could imagine, not many developers could be assed to work on their apps for free in this case

>>105600260you couldn't remap the button without enabling the bixby shit to begin with. i know because i refused and therefore the button was useless unless i caved and signed up at least once to gain "access" to it. which is unacceptable imo. i paid for the device, locking a hardware feature behind a proprietary botnet account is mega gay.
it being 8 years old is irrelevant imo, that was the user experience at the time, and even if it might be different now on the s25 ultra i wouldn't know because that phone made me determined never to buy another samshit again. but i'm glad you mentioned that because it brings up another point related to the OP - inconsistency with android devices, even the same line of devices from the same manufacturer as mentioned with regards to samsung galaxy phones. the iOS experience i've checked in on occasionally (had the 3G, 4, X, and 12, despite the massive gap between the first and last ones i had, the user experience was pretty much the same give or take some modern features.
>You can't do that on an iPhone, why is this a comparison basis for Androids where Androids score lower then?i'm sorry i can't quite understand what you're asking here, my bad. i mean true, you CAN'T do that on an iphone, whereas android phones (are able, but don't always by default) support custom OSes, i consider that not necessarily a bad thing for apple that they don't, from a "quality assurance" perspective it's a positive, all their devices are identical and locked down, ensuring a very deliberate experience. whether the experience is good or bad is a different argument but the fact they force the end user into a very specific experience with their devices could be a good thing for some users. the main takeaway there is that when discussing iOS devices you can ONLY be talking about iphone, whereas when we discuss "android phones" they are not all created equal. making the comparison difficult
