I use Windows 10 nowadays and youtube works, but the true way to bypass youtube bullshit is to use youtube api directly and not being cucked into the official gatekeeping version. You can either use ytd-dlp, some application like FreeTube or ST userscript which replaces the youtube page clientside that builds the page using the api in older youtube layout.
The only stupid thing about ST it that it stores settings in localStorage. I just modified the script to it loads my settings inline, because I clear session when my browser closes. If I will need to update I will just inline it again which is basically "one line and one if". I'm rocking 2011 youtube with some Stylus CSS modifications and custom userscript to hook my functions for timestamp seeking in video. I use embedded player, because it seemed most functional, but it doesn't support onload url ?t=<timestamp> parameter, comment timestamp links and chapter seeking. But they were trivial to reimplement and hook and it works and looks better than normal bloated youtube.
