I don't really browse here much but it's so weird how much of 4chan hates apple products. I'm a GP/family doctor with a similar social circle so it's completely unremarkable yet on 4chan they're items of complete controversy. Like just get a decent job and they are affordable.

Everyone knows they are expensive but for overall experience there isn't really anything better which is why they're so popular. I'm using an m1 MacBook Air right now which is old and it is still incredibly quick, lasts the whole day, doesn't heat up and silent cause of no fan. Meanwhile most modern high end windows laptops are still have fans, heat up quickly, barely last and often used with a mouse cause the trackpad isn't very good.

I ran MacOS on a 2020 Intel MacBook Pro for 3 years without a single issue. The only problem I had with it was the hardware and not being able to replace, fix, or upgrade components.

Linux Mint. I have this installed on a spare PC in my workshop. It's been running for years without issues. Only time I hit the terminal was on fresh install to bulk remove some of the preinstalled stuff, and then bulk install everything I use.

Manjaro in recent times has pretty much become Linux Mint. I have had problems in the past, but lately it just works. Same initial process as Linux Mint but once set up I forget the terminal exists.

Xubuntu is relatively terminal free. I think I only touched the terminal twice because of some dual monitor bullshit but haven't touched the terminal since.

As long as you aren't using some bullshit Realtek or Atheros wifi chip, you should be completely fine with WiFi in Linux. Intel wifi has always been zero problems for me in Linux. I run the AX210 cards and the WiFi, as well as bluetooth, actually works better in Linux than in Windows with these.

It's funny you talk about how Appleshit is great for your price range, but in your price range you could get any other laptop that isn't made of paper and will last you years PLUS the possibility of self-servicing if you so choose.
