ASRock PG-1300G or Corsair hx1200i
Price is about the same, the asrock one has built in sensors in the 12v cable. Which one should I buy for an rtx 4090?
>>105700143Really hard choice to make between both. I personally would go with the Corsair hx1200i since it's 12vhpwr cable breaks out into two 8-pins and have a lower risk of also melting on the PSU side
>>105700143Corsair HX is a top-class unit, you can't lose with either choice.
You can also buy Corsair's 90ยฐ cable that's compatible with that PSU (if it's not included).
You need to pick the right type if you get a 90ยฐ cable (plug orientation difference and PSU type support).
>>105697925No one have yet to answer my post...i'm just too paranoid and it just a faulty psu all along?
>>105700175That question is way out there... Maybe?
Coil whine is very fickle and I've heard that having bad cable-gpu contact can increase coil whine as seen by people who have swapped between the octopus connector and a native 12vhpwr cable with the latter having less coil whine
>>105700143I'd go for the asrock one cause of native 12V sockets. My GPU has a LED indicator that is always on if you use an adapter.
>>105700204That's some fine bottleneck.
>>105700204Nice rig, congrats
>>105700143Whichever you pick, definitely go with something modern that has a native 16 pin connector.
Request dear ganons computer for 1300 dollars of uesay
>>105700323Little bit. My monitor 4k, so that helps, but I do need to figure out when to upgrade. Maybe the socket after 1851.
>>105700323all CPUs bottleneck the 5090 at low resolutions
>AW3425DW
worth getting?
it just came out and it's already on sale lol
>>105700370After the 13th and 14th killing themselves and the new Ultras being complete garbage, I fail to understand why anyone would buy high end Intel CPUs anymore. The best chips for gaming are the 3D variants of AMD chips anyway - 9800X3D.
>>105700370Lga1954 sounds pretty badass productivity wise. I just hope it will be competitive in gaming
>>10570038613 and 14 are obviously trans
Why is the 5080 so underclocked?
>>105700401so you could OC it like the good old days
>>105700382It seems they fixed the only gripe I have with my aw3423dw which is the gsync ultimate having a really noisy fan. I'd say that hardware wise, it's a fantastic monitor but I've also heard dell are denying people their warranty for claiming oled burn in being expected under normal use
>>105700386Nova lake with 16 P-cores on the i9 looks prromising
>>105700431Stfu ass blasted nigger
>>105700382Depends on what you have now. I have the first gen AW34 purchased back in 2022 and it was a massive upgrade over my 60 hz lcd. No burn in as far as I can tell and has been a great gaming monitor.
so done with these fucking driver issues on my 5070 ti. i was in the middle of typing up a shitpost dunking on the AMDrones ITT when my screen went black and I had to turn my whole pc off. im rmaing and switching to 9070 xt fuck it idc anymore.
>>105700431Get a clue, most people visiting /pcbg/ don't want to deal with your brand wars.

>>105700451Stay strong, brother. Nvidia will sort these issues out. Do not worry. Keep buying Nvidia!
>>105700475I hope it's the XT.
>>105700196The thing is coil whine never happened with my old same brand(corsair) but less watt(750 vs new 1000) PSU plugging in the same outlet. So, yeah, it's maybe a faulty new PSU after all.
>>105700451>>105700483Nvidia drivers living rent free in your head

>>105700451amd does seem to be reliable these days but my problem with them is that amd just seem to think that a hotspot temp that is around +30c over the normal gpu temp is somehow acceptable
>>105700451This guy specifically mentions the 5070 Ti because he's bitterly regretting his decision to settle for a 9070 XT, I'm not kidding.

AHAHAHAHA
>>105700542I don't think it would be worth it.
>>105700542The oled might be worth it if you play games that support HDR.
>>105700518The hotspot temps are driving me crazy. I don't know if I made a mistake buying the ASRock Steel Legend because that thing can hit 95ยบC (usually stays at 90ยบC) hotspot easily. The problem is all the higher end cards are noisy, gigantic and well over 100โฌ MSRP.
I've read plenty of times that these are normal but I'm still worried.
>>105700569That's not me, but I do post pepes from time to time because it's silly and it makes me happy.
This frog's pretty popular ya'know?
>>105700518>>105700610I honestly wouldn't overthink it
The better they place the thermal sensors, the higher the reported temps would be. Old GPUs without this sensor were simply assumed to have 105C hotspots under load and were throttled way below what could've been possible due to this assumption.
Someone please shill me a good 27 inch 2160p monitor. Anything but OLEDs (not a budget issue, just autistic about burn-in), HDR is not important, I just want minimal response times and ghosting. Bonus points if it has a normal stand (instead of some fugly V shape).
>>105700657You won't find one everyone has taken the OLED pill now
>>105700386>I fail to understand why anyone would buy high end Intel CPUs anymoreIt's mostly corporate orders or prebuilt sales.
285K is hard to justify for DIY builders unless they need Quick Sync or they're just too used to Intel CPU tuning.
Huge win! Thank you Lisa Su!! 9070 XT faster than 5090 wow!!! Total magic, AMD won!!!!

We have all seen stuff like this, but these tables often cost a lot and large touchscreens aren't cheap either.
I'm wondering if I could use something like a touch frame (https://www.amazon.com/Chengying-Points-Multi-Touch-Infrared-Touch/dp/B07RQH8BT4) and a ceiling mounted projector to emulate the experience.
Do you guys think it's a dumb idea?
>>105700679>everyone as in everyoneLess than 10% of people use 4K or higher and even those aren't predominantly OLED.
>everyone as in hyperconsoomers on this boardYeah, understandable, I guess.
8GB RX 580 is all you need
How come nobody suggests the LG C2/C4/C4/C5 these days
>>105700737A ceiling mounted projector sounds like hell to cable manage
Also won't the image become too large by the time it hits your table?
>>105700767Are there really better monitors that are as well rounded? This covers all bases
>>105700767They have taken the qd-oled pill
>>105700771I have no experience with projectors, but I assumed things like image size could be configured to reach a specific size at a specific distance.
As per cable management, that could be solved by having HDMI over WiFi and a battery pack for the projector.
Or you could mount the projector on a monitor arm atop the table.
>>105700767>9ms input lagIt's honestly impressive for a TV but still unusable for gaming.
>>105700737It is not a dumb idea. People and companies have been making stuff like that for over 15 years now. I have no idea how you would DIY it though. But the tech exists.
Even insta zoomers are getting their pc bricked by rtx 50 series. This shit isn't a meme

Rate my ssf pc list. Tryna minmax the price/performance because prices nowadays are ridiculous. I'm most concerned about parts reliability, since I'm getting cheaper shit my ape brain thinks its worse but I dont feel like getting jew'd.
>>105700795What about ATI?
>>105700737I don't see why it wouldn't work. Cons of the projector solution is having to be in the dark and shadows being cast onto the table when your hands are over it. Scope could quickly balloon out if you don't have a ready solution on the software side. Sounds like a fun project regardless.
>>105700844On the software side I can already use Foundry VTT, it has a plugin which implements touch support for the use case of those very tables.
Since the frame and projector would simply end up emulating a touchscreen display it should work seamlessly.
>>105700737Use a rear projecting setup and shoot the image onto the surface from the floor.
>>105700767because not many people want eyestrain from sitting in front of a giant tv

40 inches touch frame on top of this specific table: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/vittsjoe-nesting-tables-set-of-2-black-brown-glass-80215332/
It's already glass, it's cheap, and most importantly it's in 16:9 aspect ratio with a 40 inches diagonal, and has a surface to place a projector on.
Now I need to study up on projectors to pick the best one for this use case.

>>105701254Dunno, what does the balanced / quality mode look like?
From benchmarks I have seen, fsr4 really flops in terms of FPS, DLSS 3/4 offers 30% more fps compared to native (and I don't think the profiles make a huge differenc), while FSR 4 is a minor increase even with performance mode, FSR 3 offers better fps.

>>105700994The $600 MSRP is like a quantum wave function, only exists when unobserved. If I was in the market for a new GPU now I'd be pissed at AMD for lying about their pretend price that COULD have improved this shit market.

for this you might want x3d cpu because emulators typically love single core performance, cache, and bandwidth - again, depending on the emulator it might not utilize gpu at all so all heavy lifting will be done by cpu
you say up to switch and up to ps4 - well, that is basically all known consoles besides current gen - so it depends which one you want
are most vendor driver installs not supposed to give any indication of success? most of these I click, grant permission and then nothing happens, I can watch it run then disappear on the task manager but that's all I get

>>105705063Newegg is having a summer promotion to sell unpopular Intel Arrow Lake CPUs & motherboards (Core Ultra 7/i7 CPU, motherboard, and 16GB DDR5 memory for $400).
The savings are pretty significant and I recommend you buy it if you're looking to trim costs.
>decently upgradeableThe only bad part about this deal is this new Intel platform will only have an Arrow Lake refresh generation later this year, so your upgrade options are limited.
Add these items to the cart and you'll see the combo discount being applied. It has no affiliate links, I'm just sharing a deal.
https://www.newegg.com/intel-core-ultra-7-265kf-arrow-lake-lga-1851-desktop-cpu-processor/p/N82E16819118507?Item=N82E16819118507

The savings from those CPU components can help you buy a better video card.
I don't recommend you spend $1000 on a 5070 Ti (sane maximum should be around $850 for better models), but I'm just showing you how much room the CPU bundle gives you.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kdLMQd
You can drop down to a 5070 12GB or a 5060 Ti 16GB. 5070 has a notably stronger GPU, but the 5060Ti has more VRAM.
It doesn't seem like you can find any 5070 12GB @ MSRP, Newegg is offering $90~160 store gift card credit for these purchases, but you don't know how soon they'll apply the store credit for you.
This 5060Ti 16GB model is a bit overpriced ($430 base MSRP), but there aren't that many better alternatives.
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/M64Pxr/asus-prime-geforce-rtx-5060-ti-16-gb-video-card-prime-rtx5060ti-16g
I can share an AMD build if you're interested too.
If you want to save some/a lot of money, check out some Radeon 9060 XT 16GB and 9070/XT cards.

>>105707783>not a very active generalIt depends on what time of day it is
Sometimes these fly by
But it's usually the same people shitting it up, not quality posts
>what I should improve in the OPI prefer images that have some kind of anime girl, doesn't matter if it's an illustration or case figurine
>>105707860>anime girlThis thread for 30 y old plus.
>>105703923>r3600+rx5600xt>set for years to comeI'm doing some Spring cleaning, and I have one of these to sell, but I can't figure the price.
It's a Sapphire Pulse 5600xt, from covid-era, the only card I could get at the time.
It's clean, nothing wrong with it. But it's also kind of wimpy, 6GiB vram, etc.
None of my family members or friends want it. Anyone who's interested in this kind of stuff already has something better.
Partly I feel like I should just make up a price, and whoever shows up to get the thing, just give it to them for free.

>>105707900You might be able to get around $100 for it.
I'd try to sell it fast.
>>105707900I meant to attach the eBay sales history image too.
Solid card but you need to sell it fast before even fewer people want 6GB video cards.

>>105707316So we can assume that the 5000-cards will be the last ones that work on Win 10 right? So it would probably be smarter to get the 5070ti and use that for the next seven years so you don't have to use Win 11.
