5070 gets a bit of hate because of the VRAM brigade, and the 9070 is overpriced in the US (cheapest is $650, $100 above base MSRP).

That early reply didn't answer your question.
5070 12GB makes sense if you find a nice model near MSRP (like the ASUS Prime), and you are willing to adjust settings to deal with whatever VRAM-related bottlenecks that may manifest in the future.
9070 non-XT makes sense when sold at reasonable prices and you don't care for the NVIDIA features or advantages (CUDA/AI, DLSS, etc.)

Looks like it should perform about as well as a GTX 980, which is fine for my purposes, assuming nVidia's drivers work fine for games on these cards.

>>105737787

I tried leaving it on for 10-15 minutes, still nothing.

Disconnected power, Opening the case back up and checking the RAM and power cables next, then double checking the GPU after that I guess.

If the motherboard had a short it wouldn’t distribute power to the fans and back panel components (keyboard and mouse), would it?

It's going to be quite traumatic to switch GPU because I modded this 1080 with Noctua fans and it's silent even under 100% load, I'm going to be tortured by whatever chink fans a new GPU will have, and deshrouding would mean voiding the warranty which is vile on a 800€ card.

its perfectly fine, they're literally separate cables with the plastic sleeves just melted together for convenience. With a 2x slot setup, you don't use just one, because it can cause power supply issues where it may not ramp up quick enough or slow enough because both sets of cables are running off the single psu slot.

No, I don't believe any display or monitor manufacturers demonstrated QDEL/microLED monitors at CES or Computex '25.

Thank you based fren.
Guess I'll pull the trigger on the Noctua 140s after all... how are Lian Li fans? (This is a Lian Li case, so why not...)... FSP is the best (quietest) PSU, if it's rated liek 35% above calculated maximum load, amirite?

I *need* to avoid coil whine.

Tell me why on earth would you get a 43" va when you get *aLLeGeDLY*( I havent checked) get a 42-48" LG C/B in USA for 600$ right now?

Downsides
>It's samsung (Qc horrid)
>VA smear insane
>I think it might have a BGR subpixel structure from memory too lazy to check

just buy a fuckin TV that is both better faster and cheaper

if you don't have a hdmi2.1 connection on your gpu might be the only downside then you are fucked I guess

>Unironically should I just wait?
6 months into 5090 release and supply has just stabilized to the point of that you can buy them, and you wanna wait 2 years
I mean yeah unless you are building now wait 2 years until 6090
but if you wait 2 years just to buy a 6080 which is a worse 5090 you will have to question your IQ levels
and you are considering waiting for even lesser gpus than those that exist right now? I don't even
nothing make sense anymore

>microled
>just use 200" as a pc monitor to get the pixel pitch bro
DOA tech

>but I don’t want something that the ps6/ps6 pro will invalidate and make me have to upgrade early
The Super refresh cards won't be cheap if NVIDIA's upgrading that much memory capacity (+ scalping).

PS6 and the Pro won't match the 5070 Ti's performance, that level of performance is cost-prohibitive for a gaming console.
These console GPUs just need to be able to upscale to 4K, with maybe some frame generation mixed in for 120FPS gaming.
The PS6 will probably target a $500~600 MSRP, they need to upgrade the CPU as well (main performance bottleneck).

It'll fit six 140mm fans (paired in top, bottom & side), plus one 120mm exhaust fan in the back... actually, the big cpu cooler & gpu take up the space of one or two 140s, so I guess 4x140+1x120 is the how it'll wind up.
(To be clear: whooshing air is fine; fan & coil *whine* is *not* -- I don't want to hear any solid materials rubbing together).

Asus strix 4090 has less fan noise but depending on when it's produced, same (2024 batch) or significantly (pre-2024) more coil whine

Maybe? yes? no? entirely depends on your usage
maybe you will have worse issues than burn in over time
point was it's a bad proposition if you wanna use large screens in current year
TVs are cheaper and better
and everything larger is mostly VA which will be ass
some people use VA TVs too but you will get BGR subpixels and smear there too, it will be brighter though
I wouldn't
especially if you have crazy deals like that, maybe it's over now before
idk I watched yt'ers in usa shill for that deal a while ago
maybe wait for the next deal
I have no clue not my market
you even have the s90d 42" 48" too to check out or whatever there

New thread, I know it's unnecessary because the shitpostings slowed down.
But I am making changes to the OP based on feedback.
