Recommendations are based on US prices, current 9070 prices are too close to the 9070XT to justify purchase.

If you buy that TV/monitor for $500 at Best Buy, I'd say it was a win.
Especially if you're concerned with burn-in.
Check if there's any new firmware for that display after you set it up.

If you're in the US & concerned with OLED image retention, test out the AOC Q27G40XMN 1440p miniled (VA).
Return it if you get the bad one that can't apply the best local dimming option (Strongest) when HDR is enabled.
Best Buy should accept your return because the product is flawed.

I think it's worth the effort because it's a solid choice if you're concerned with OLED burn-in.

Speaking of OLED I recently got the AW3225QF from Best Buy here in Leafland since it was on sale but didn't get BB's warranty. Does anyone here have personal experience with either Dell or BB's warranty? Wondering if BB's 4-5 years is worth the extra 300+ leaf dollars. It seems Dell's advanced exchange always sends out refurbished units to replace yours and BB will either give you a new unit or a full refund you can spend on a newer monitor down the line?

I want 32-bit PhysX support. I want a GPU that runs 100W less electricity cooler than a 5090. I want something SLIM so that I can fit it into this case on a board which moves the GPU slot down to expose a PCIEx1 above it.

There are plenty of videos on this. Based on these videos the card does seem to be affected. Some games less than others from 0% difference to a 10% difference.

I'm not overclocking. I'm not hunting single-digit percentage gains (I'm already pushing twelve cores and a flagship vidya kard). I'm not looking to *waste* electricity. I'm patient. I might even underclock it.

I don't know what the compressibility of these things is, I would imagine they are quite solid in order to have good conductivity.
I'm thinking I'll take the old ones and measure the thickness where they actually contact the memory modules, if it ends up being like 1mm then I think compressing a 2mm down to 1 might be a bit too much.

I don't know if it's still a thing (and probably still is) but your memory will typically be whatever was cheapest at the time of assembly.

I remember when the overclocking potential of certain cards would depend on the VRAM's manufacturer, where you were lucky to get Samsung.

In my experience though, overclocking is the equivalent of driving a hot rod to go grocery shopping, especially when modern cars are already pretty high performance as it is.

And for what? Maybe a few more FPS in certain scenarios? All while compromising system stability and/or the lifespan of a rather expensive product?

DLSS upscaling used to work on the Convolutional Neural Network model. Now it works on the Transformer model.
Benefits: on average it leads to better image quality especially during motion, and allegedly the T model has a much higher ceiling than the CNN model and can theoretically get way better.
Negatives: the DLSS-T algorithm is a bit harder to run depending on how old your GPU is: for an RTX5000 card the T model runs barely any worse than the CNN model, for an RTX2000 card it's a considerable cost to the point where DLSS-T Performance runs like DLSS-CNN Quality.

I used to like Sapphire, and then I had one bum card from them, and then never really bothered considering them since.
I'm still wary of Gigabyte since they can't seem to nail down one good design, and will come out with constant revisions.
And then Asus card typically are louder.

Again, look up formal reviews for each card model. If you can multiple from the same site, even better, since that will allow you to compare apples to apples as far as testing methodology and results.

I prefer Gsync, but that's just me. Freesync has come a long way and is much cheaper, but either technology has its advantages and disadvantages.

I did a study with Tom's Hardware in conjunction with Newegg back in the day, and they're nearly identical, where there was rampant brand-bias.

AOC released a new 27" 1440p miniLED VA monitor with 1,152 local dimming zones (Q27G40XMN).
But there is some firmware lottery involved (bad one can't apply the best local dimming option [Strongest] when HDR is enabled).

I would take that gamble if it's available in CA and if you have the energy to deal with returns/refund in the worst case.

I am the biggest computer retard ever and my knowledge is limited to playing vidya. I want to know your advice to the specs and pic related, my computer that my cousin built for me 3 years ago. It runs well but my brother has almost the same as mine and he had problem with the CPU, it overheated

Here are the specs:

>Motherboard: ROG Strix B550-F Gaming wifi
>Monitor: Asus VG27A
>Power supply: Rosewill 850w 80plus bronze
>Case: Fractal Design Focus G Mid-Tower ATX with 2 front fans, no fans at the rear
>GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080 msi
>CPU: AMD Ryzen 5900X 12-Core processor
>RAM: 2x16GB Kingston DIMM DDR4 2667MT/S
>Storage: 1TB SSD kingston SA2000M81000G
>Heat sink CPU: Not sure but seems to be generic AMD Wraith air cooler

Anything wrong with it? I'd like to add a 2 or 4TB memory because I want to get into gamedev using UE5/blender, maybe change the heatsink and add a rear exhaust fan

Also, what kind of maintenance/optimization do I need to do? I just gently air spray it outside to remove dust but what else? I'm afraid to play in the settings/guts of the computer as I am a total noob. Do I need to tinker with the BIOS? Do I need to defrag my memory? Do I need to play in the settings of windows/nvidia? I just want it to last a long time, keep it cool and quiet. I don't know where to look for basic computering 101 :(

You can buy an affordable dual-tower cooler like the Peerless Assasin V3.

Memory speed is underwhelming, is that without XMP/DOCP enabled?
Download HWInfo and show us the system summary

3200MT/s CL16 or 3600MT/s CL18 is the recommended XMP/DOCP (easy automatic overclock) option.

Peerless Assassin 140 would probably be the best out of the three.
>Is my computer enough for gamedev like UE5 and blender?
I think it's good enough. 12 core Zen 3 CPU and the 3080 is still decent.
You might be bottlenecked by the 10GB VRAM of the 3080, but don't buy a new video card until you run into this problem.

>Can I add a 4TB storage?
Yes you can. Check the storage section of the official spec sheets.

You will always buy something you don't use because the motherboards are packed with more or less meaningful features. Maybe it's 2 of the DIMM slots or the PCIe 3.0x1 slot or the TPM chip or something else. A WiFi module is cheap and happens to be included, you might as well buy a WiFi PCIe card for small money like 15 bucks if you want WiFi with Windows 10.

It was the first time they admitted a mistake of their own (too high PBO values) and that's why I believe they fixed it. Everything works stable and within normal parameters here. And I don't change any settings in the AMD submenu of the BIOS that should be redundant but maybe stack to result in fatal values.

If it's because you want Win 10 I did the research on it a couple of weeks ago. Basically the list was something like this:

1. Asus TUF Gaming B650/B650M-Plus WiFi
2. MSI MAG B650M Mortar WiFi/MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WIFI
3. Gigabyte B650M/B650M Aorus Elite AX. This one is trickier since they have like 10 different versions and some work and some don't.

I had to do deep research for this, not only did I visit the motherboards manufacturers sites and checked the drivers, I crosschecked it with, check this, Reddit and some boards which said they had drivers for Win 10 Wifi/Bluetooth didn't, like the Asus Tuf Gaming B850/B850M

The boards that have Wifi 6 should be safe, but needs to be crosschecked anyways. I've debated if I should just suck it up and go with a B850M to get that pcie 5.0 16x but I just can't give upp to the devils at microsoft and use win 11.

thats one of the dumbest setups i've ever seen in my life anon. Put the AIO on the top, have the fans on the bottom EXHAUST air, not intake, and make the rear fan exhaust aswell. The GPU will be blowing air down and the bottom fans will assist sucking that air out, the rear exhaust fan is to keep moving air away from the VRMs + capacitors around the cpu.

>The GPU will be blowing air down and the bottom fans will assist sucking that air out

What are you talking about? Do you mean with a sideways video card mount? Unless your video card has reversible fans or you've DIY'd it to be reverse, video cards blow off the sides of the card, the back, or a hole in the backplate on the nose of the card. If you do a downdraft case flow with a normal card it's just going recirculate.

There's no much difference between intake on top or bottom with magnetic dust filters.

Also we should be asking this guy what this computer is for, does he do production work loads with CPU or GPU? Does he do production and does it matter at all? If it's a themed case that's not going to throttle either way it should just be what looks best or cleans the easiest.
