RTX 50 Super rumors: 5070 Ti Super 24GB, 5080 Super 24GB, 5070 Super 18GB

>Omissions
RTX 5070 Ti: buy if you need CUDA, if you value DLSS/Reflex that highly, and if the 5060 Ti 16GB or 5070 isn't performant enough.
RTX 5070: buy if it's reasonably priced & if you plan to work around potential VRAM bottlenecks.
RX 9070 non-XT: current 9070 prices in the US are too close to the 9070XT's.

Bad one causes HDR content to look overbrightened and desaturated when applying the best local dimming option.

panic bought a 5080. installed it successfully, got drivers working, it ran expedition 33 flawlessly. works well enough but not as impressive as i thought it would (sub-100 FPS on 1440p highest settings). i have a 10600K OC to 4.8 gHZ, surprisingly the CPU utilization was staying around 50%-67% while GPU utilization was at 94%.

what are some settings/configs i need to do to get the most out of 5080?

Gaming performance is still heavily reliant upon the CPU's single-threaded performance (not just boost clocks).
A stock 13600K nearly doubles the single-threaded rendering performance of a 10600K.

The important thing is to have 3D cache for gaming perf. If you must have a Ryzen 9 for work, you have two choices that are X3D and both are like a doubled version of a lower class Ryzen, 12 and 16 cores. However only half the cores (a chiplet) have the 3D cache, so you may have to do some fiddling to make sure only those cores are being used for a game. That is the reason why you're being told to get a 9800x3d with its 8 cores; it's effectively the same "good" half of a 9950x3d when serving a game, and it's better than the good half of a 9900x3d (only 6 cores).

Arrow Lake is fine if you need an Intel CPU for work, it's underwhelming for latency-sensitive tasks like gaming.

AMD overspecced it because they are being overly cautious with first gen x3d vcache. In practice the 5700x3d pulls practically mobile CPU amounts of power and only runs slightly warm because of the insulating vcache, but still a lot cooler than the 5800x3d since it's a heavily downclocked and undervolted variant of it.

The fans bundled in that case are old compared to the newly released Pure Wings 3. I don't think it's a deal-breaker if you like the case.
I don't see any special noise optimizations made for the case.

I live in Russia, here the population is almost entirely urban. By urban I mean this.
And yes, people take concrete boxes with an area of 60-70 square meters per family for a mortgage for life, especially in Moscow, where such an apartment will cost 200-300 thousand dollars. My income is about 25 thousand dollars a year after taxes, I am a low-paid specialist (developer of aircraft, specialist in aviation strength)

Two questions:

What's a reasonable price for a 1650 Super? One near me asking $80, would $40 be a reasonable offer?

Is it worthwhile to upgrade my shitbox with said 1650 super? It's an old HP EliteDesk 800 G1 Tower โ€” i5 4590, 16Gb RAM, 750Ti, and a 320 Watt PSU. I see I would need an SATA to PCI-E adapter as well, but the PSU should handle the card I believe?

The 9900X is for... productivity; I intend to livestream 4k games while running other stuff, so I can park a core on the OS, eight on the game or LLM stuff, and the other three cores are free to help the others with OS or game, or be assigned to other things like converting a video while I'm doing other things.

My Pro Intellimouse has had scroll issues for a year (occasionally will scroll up when scrolling down & vice versa) but Microsoft seems to have discontinued it now.
I love the mouse because of its relatively normal design that doesn't scream "GAYYYYMEEER" like so many other mice, and because it's wired so I don't have to worry about charging it.
Friend of mine recommended getting a Zowie EC2-C as replacement but it seems they've discontinued it in favour of wireless slop.

What would be some good replacement(s) that:
>have a normal ergonomic design and don't scream "GAYMER"

most high end mice are wireless at this point cause it's better for gaming but some of them you can plug in the cable and it will work just fine as well. Long lasting is rare at this point cause either the mechanical buttons die or the encoder and other than some razer or logitech mice barely anyone goes for both. Logitech ones still manage to die in a short timespan I read but no idea. Like I told the previous anon who asked about mice I use this >>105788379 but wired only has 1k pooling rate though you shouldn't go above this anyway.

I want to get a PCIe to NVMe adapter for my x16 lane. It's PCIE 3, I have a Z490 with a 10th gen Intel chip. Would it be better to get a 4TB SSD with or without DRAM/cache, if it's a newer SSD?
There's some PCIe 5.0/gen whatever drives like the Evo 990 Plus. It's up to 7000MB/s read, 6000MB/s write. With the adapter I'd be limited to a max speed of about 3000MB/s anyway. Would it still be better to maybe opt for an older, not as readily available anymore SSD that's 3.0 or 4.0, but has DRAM? Or still get a newer model that supports up to 5.0 and also has DRAM.
I mainly want a very fast (for my standards) drive to put all my games on. I currently have 5 SATA SSDs varying in performance and one older Samsung NVMe which I got with the mobo. I'd like to migrate the OS to the NVMe and then have another, bigger NVMe for my games.

Are IPS monitors still the best option for colour fidelity? I realised my monitor is 8 years old so it's time for an upgrade.

Yes, they have best color accuracy besides an OLED.

And OLED is still outrageously expensive and suffers from burn-in, right?
I was looking at the Dell S2725DS and it almost seems too good to be true for $180, it's 2560 x 1440 and 100 Hz

The more expensive oleds don't burn in as bad with the pixel refresher shit they do and ABL. Check out LG IPS monitors, I think they are the best looking and have no ghosting which is a problem I had with various OEM monitors.

OLED is high end prices and can get burn in but they are by far the best panels

get a Corsair Ironclaw if you want a decent mouse with a similar shape and design to a deathadder. If you have great tendons, get an EVGA x17, i loved it until it ruined my hand lol.

my chair is more expensive than yours unless you paid a grand for it anon, and it doesnt have that, also that'd just be annoying as shit, having to constantly switch on and off the chair locks.

Just buy a fucking rug, or at least a computer chair mat. Comp chairs fuck up floors regardless long term.

a 9900x is a terrible choice, especially when you're paypigging for a fucking 5090. Get the damn 9950X3d. Or at least a 9900X3d....

also trash choice in M.2s, no DRAM cache in your m.2 = trash m.2.

Also tower coolers are a retard-tier choice in a mini-rig, go get a high end AIO.

Prices on budget gaming IPS monitors have collapsed recently. If you only want a Fast-IPS 1440p@100Hz you can get one for ~$100 here on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/KTC-QHD-100Hz-IPS-Adjustable/dp/B0D3PKPZCK

You can pickup a 1440p@180Hz Fast-IPS for only $140:
https://www.amazon.com/SANSUI-Monitor-Computer-ES-G27F2Q-Included/dp/B0CWCWL81G
https://www.amazon.com/VAIMI-Gaming-Monitor-180Hz-Computer/dp/B0DLWM1HF2?xpid=45wQ9QQHtyjIH

And for around the same price as that Dell S2725DS (100Hz) you can get a nicer 1440p@240Hz panel ($190):
https://www.amazon.com/2560x1440P-FreeSync-Compatible-DispalyPort-Speakers/dp/B0DJVZD56V

As always ordering a display off Amazon means if you aren't satisfied with it in 30-days just return it.

Acer Nitro XV270 M3BMIIPRX is currently discounted to $130, it's probably one of the better deals.

I don't know whether they are consumer friendly wrt product returns though.

Don't buy the Acer XV270 M3bmiiprx from their official website, they are selling the 27" 1080p version on their website for $130.
The better one on Amazon (XV271U M3) is the 1440p version but it is overpriced atm.
