Yet, most traditional forums allow you to do exactly that. I use forums that allow me to browse threads from 20 years ago and even necrobump them.
So, archives are a perfect complement for 4chan. I also find them very useful to find old shitposts I made that I want to copypaste.

I spend almost as much time on the archives as I do on 4channel--probably a little more than a third. I even ghostpoast. Hello me in the future. I can enjoy things now as well as later.

I prefer to look for my answer first and foremost within the archives before I have to resort to dedicated forums or Leddit.

My only gripe is when I'm reading through a (relatively) old thread and come across a maymay or image that's relevant to the discussion, but it's not archived.

I once tried to set up an archive with an old /jp/ dump from the original archive.moe to nostalgiafag about pre-Fappening 4chan, but it was way too hard for me and I gave up. The tutorials to set up Fuuka or FoolFuuka or whatever the full name of the software stack is are either literally nonexistent or incomplete or critically out of date. Now don't get me wrong I am retarded and never touched PHP or databases in my life but idk man I tried a lot and it never worked at all.

Wish there was an easier way to set it all up, especially when a lot of the currently existing archive have search disabled.

I legitimately think that the whole 4chan archive situation was better 10 years ago than now. When archive moe shut down, no other archive ever sprung up to its place, and critically bad behaviors have spread and been accepted like a cancer for the remaining and newer archives.
