how do people get viruses these days? doesnt the built in microsoft anti virus catch most things? wouldnt they have to disable it to get infected? do you think they are following the instructions on some "video file" thats telling them to disable the antivirus to watch a video? I legit wanna know. I work in IT and I rarely see people get infected these days because of all the protections built in to browsers and in windows. i presume you mean autoruns that actually ran automatically without use input, they made it an extra click in vista (like the os pops if you want to run the autorun or a couple other options, while previous windows would just run the autorun if it was present). also technically speaking it wasn't because an exe was named "autorun.exe", it's actually autorun.inf which defines which .exe to run and what icon to give the drive in my computer
