but then i thought about it, this is 3rd or 4th time this year i have to tinker with chrome to make it work with adblock, also 3rd of 4th time reinstall revanced on phone. i decided to jump the ship. i dont want to deal with this bullshit anymore
>install firefox>make it default>import bookmarks, history, auto fill in and passwords from chrome>create throwaway account for syncing>install firefox on my phone>sync everything up>try to install 4chanx>discover it isnt working properly>install Violentmonkey extension on firefox>search for script within violentmonkey for 4chanXT>install it>tweak some settings to make it behave like my old build 4chanx>find a script that will move ctrl+f find bar from the bottom to the top right like in chrome and install itall in all it tok me about an hour of my time and most of it was fucking around with 4chanxt settings. i cant believe i havent moved sooner. i though it would be pain in the ass so i just lived with chromes bullshit
there are some things that i immediately noticed and i dont like about firefox compared to chrome
>slower, fancier animations which make browsing feel slower>when entering full screen on a video animation is twice as long as on chrome>instead of just expanding to full screen, on firefox the screen fades to black and then goes back on in fullscreen>popup window on top of the screen that says "youtube.com is now full screen, press esc to exit" is unnecessarily large and not in black color with dark theme enabled but some weird dark blue/grey>firefox UI on android sucks ass (especially tabs, groups etc) it is so un-intuitive (to be honest chrome isnt much better in this regard, it is just that im familiar with it, hopefully i get used to firefox)bottom line is, install firefox and dont look back
>>105869855 (OP)Since I'm not gay/troon I'm not switching to firefox.
I use brave as a second browser to open shit I wont risk opening in my regular browser but not nasty enough to warrant a VM.
I updated the flags so it works for a time at least.
When it stops I'll go to chromium or even opera.

Is there a way to continue using uBlock Origin?
If you configure it right, Edge is the best browser. I even use bing for reward points.

>>105899864imagine the smell
Yet another reason that letting Google have defacto control of the entire fucking Web's standards is a bad idea. Firefox is pretty much the lone bastion of an alternative yet equally capable and feature equipped FOSS browser but people have become massive fucking faggots expecting Firefox to go up against Google's near infinite money yet having a meltdown if Mozilla tries to do anything, no matter how innocuous (ie clearly visible, easily disabled sponsored bullshit on an optional new tab splash, making a deal to resell Mullvad one of the best VPN services etc.). Anyway, Firefox is pretty much the only FOSS project standing in the way of total Blink/Chromium domination and hopefully people will see this shit now with ManifestV2 being disabled
>but for the moment I can reenable it if I...
Supposedly the future versions won't make this so easy
>but what about CHROMIUM_FORK?
Some may keep it for the moment, but there will be a time when it will be incompatible and they'll have to decide between maintaining V2 and updating the rest of the browser, engine etc. This will happen faster if Google sees a lot of pushback and fuckery most likely. One will also have to worry about any massive security holes created by those browsers who try to keep it - kinda like how old Waterfox and Pale Moon had some real issues as I recall keeping old style XPI addons that basically had limitless access to the browser and your system, while trying to get the benefits of the quantum update.
>What about NICHE_BROWSER_PROJECT?
If its FOSS that's all well and good, but even something like Ladybird is planning to be UNIX-like only. We're already having problems with Google basically pushing sites toward Chromium/Blink as the default and everything else has to chase that, so anything that doesn't have equal or better features and compatibility to Firefox isn't going to gain enough marketshare to leverage toward changes
>>105869855 (OP)unisntall what ever the fuck gave me that error and never go back to it again, install another browser that's not said pile of shit and stop it from updating for ever and ever.
Use Firefox or Ungoogled Chromium with the unpacked extension from github
>>105893140But I don't use 4chan-x and I still have that. Are you sure you're aware of what the native extension does and doesn't include?
>>105869855 (OP)Idk I use ungoogled chromium
>>105875115Unpatched software is way more of a threat to corpos than to actual people. Actual people see more of a threat in password reuse and web exploitation against web services that they use.
