I'm fixing a PC and the SSD is definitely in read only mode. So it has to go. Thing is, I don't know if that's the only thing that's wrong with the laptop. Only clues are the BSODs, currently showing either SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION or MEMORY MANAGEMENT errors. How can I be sure the SSD is the only thing wrong with it? no I don't have another SSD to test.

A businesses dependant on its software platform loses all its important engineers and its janky undocumented platform begins failing. They need to get things back up and running ASAP before they lose all their clients
What kind of business to they contract to explore their architecture and get things running again? is this the purpose of an MSP? It must be very lucrative right?
I think I'm good at mapping out services and working out whats going on without any documentation. Can this be a well paying skill? with how stupid the monkeys are that run my current job there must surely be other businesses that find themselves in dire straights when the one competent techie ragequits

>>105927253There was a controlled reviewed and published study that showed that surprisingly mathematical skill has no relation with programming skill whatsoever.
The only stable predictor of programming skill was linguistic skill. This also explains why there are so many Indians as they usually speak 3 languages natively while their own language is filled with words from a fourth language. As to why other immigrants that speak multiple languages fail? The difference is that Hindi (and all other Indo-Iranian languages) and English (and most other European languages) belong to the same genetic family.

>>105928234>greeneryMore like brownery
>>105928263Just water your fucking lawn? Retard
>>105928273You planning on watering the entire state?
Or are you just going to never go outside like the autistic retard you are.
>>105928245>OMG I want to get paid $200k for working 4 hours a week!>wtf why are houses so expensive after all these rich tech workers moved away from california?>why do these builders who break their fucking backs building cardboard houses want to get paid decent wages?>why do the building companies make so much money??dunno man, it's really a difficult thing to explain...
>>105928249I've moved across the USA from NC => Texas => Colorado => Washington chasing better jobs over the past 5ish years
>>105928255I lived in Texas for two years, it's a brown shithole filled with brown people and liberals and there's only greenery for a few months in spring before the heat turns it brown
>>105928261What I do cannot be done or ever done by some dumbass kid who smoked pot in school and fucked around in college. They dont have the temperanent, the patience, nor the brainpower to manage many servers, do sys admin stuff, manage cloud CI/CD, create programs in all different languages, and then to finish it off, deal with annoying meetings by managers saying absolutely nothing.
No sir, I've earned my keep.
>>105928294>I lived in Texas for two yearsopinion utterly and insanely discarded
>>105928298i have done all these things and am drunk right this second
>>105928329The difference is he went and out took from the system what was his and you didnโt
god dammit i hate this fucking job

Does anyone know anyone with > 10 yoe in tech who is happy?
we just need to start killing programmers
>>105928453this. fuck those entitled fucks. IT staff can replace them all now by using LLMs.
>>105928459Just wait to you realize laid off high end programmers are better at IT + LLMS than you.
>>105928471> high end programmers are better at IT you niggas cant even use powershell. you can't even configure your own routers. most "programmers" barely know how to use a computer beyond booting up their favorite IDE and copypasting shit from stackoverflow (or now "vibe coding")
>>105924875lilbro it's rmdir
also the ls, mkdir, and cd commands used there are all using .NET calls because if you use cmd commands in powershell, by default those are all aliases for powershell commands
>ls/dir - Get-ChildItem>cd - Set-Location>mkdir - New-Item -ItemType Directory>rmdir - Remove-ItemIdk why you guys are seething about Powershell. It's like the only good thing that has come out of Microshit since Windows 7. It's not only fairly intuitive, but it can practically do anything in a relatively straightforward manner
i swear everyone of you powershell seethers must be bash shell babyducks
>>105928520this. Ive seen people from google that had trouble figuring out how to use a terminal window or doing any basic computer management stuff. Literally had one say
>how do you change your group policy for a user? Are you serious? All that leetcoding makes dumbass kids and jeets.
>>105928520>you niggas cant even use powershellbecause its useless for actual programmers and they can do sysadmin work just fine in linux because its 99% of the time necessary just to get your dev environment setup, if server architecture ran on windows servers than we would know powershell better than you but it doesnt so nobody cares
>>105928471>high end programmers are better at ITHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
"high end programmers" are as retarded as every other programmer
>>105928550>rmdirrmdir : The term 'rmdir' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet...
ACK!!
>>105928550oh yeah forgot this part
if you want to run cmd commands without using powershell aliases, you can just run
>cmd cd>cmd mkdir>cmd rmdiretc
>B-B-B-B-BUTokay if you're seething about that for some reason just don't use powershell? just launch cmd? what's the problem schizo
>>105928567most users are on windows boxes, which means in corpo environments doing AD/exchange shenanegains, and for consoomer software means testing on and deploying to windows.

>>105928612>RMObviously didn't work for
>>105924875 care to explain that?
>>105928592very few programmers are targeting windows environments so again, nobody gives a shit about powershell or windows
corpo crapware to micromanage employees is the only thing that runs on windows servers so theres literally no point for programmers to learn anything about it
most SWE jobs are developing in linux/osx and deploying on cloud (linux)
>>105928627actually it's your hands that are brown just saying
>>105927691Going to slingshot and pay off the house in 4 years out of 30 then dump the rest in investments. Its not the smartest idea but atleast i am stocked up with cash, and a small pile of shit that will last me. Funny enough about that it actually has beat inflation since shit is much more expensive now. But its not a prepper level of hoard.
>>105928592AD/Exchange is for help desk monkeys the real IT is in networking, data centers, VOIP, AV, cybersecurity. I rarely if ever use powershell, the script kitties just think they have the keys to the kingdom but everyone else has far more access to much more expensive equipment for the company.
>>105928471My last roommate was a programmer and his incompetence was astounding. I would find his notes left around the house and it was always 100-level EE stuff hand-transcribing binary and handwritten notes about what databases are and shit. Really entry level stuff.
He also didn't know how to configure the router, would use his phone instead of his computer to send emails and do video calls, and got mad at me for running a long ethernet cable to my room. He also didn't know how to use a screwdriver.
Somehow he pulled like 90k/yr and literally the only thing I ever saw him do was sit on his macbook and code.
>>105928670>SECRET LONIX ENVIRONMENT ONLY FOR BRAHMIN CASTE SAAR! DALIT SCUM ONLY ALLOWED POWERSHELL IN DA WINDOWS!!!
>>105928670>networking, data centers, VOIP, AVmost IT monkeys do all of these things and on a cost centre wage and budget too
you just think the literal only thing they do is PS because you, as a midwit coooooder, only know one language yourself, can only use it for the very specific tasks you memorized from leetcode, and can't conceive of anyone else in your organization doing anything of value
>>105928670>script kitties

the stuff you IT monkeys do all day is literally just taken for granted by SWEs because if you cant do any of that you cant even get to the real SWE work
cats and tubes makes the internet go around. Powershell fags should just kill themselves. None of you have even fucked with CUCM or any Cisco IOS in your lives. This is just cope for not being trusted with more important shit at the workplace. AD is a meme non important job.

>/g/ posters can't remove a folder in windows but insist they're making 1m$ per year at faang
a lot of activity today huh?
>>105928563Retard when the fuck would that ever be important to them. Its like asking the programmers if paying them so much is worth taking them away from there job to go fix computers. Its why IT and Tech(programing) is considered separate jobs entirely. Your just coping because your brown.
>>105928823that has nothing to do with my post retard, both a front end guy and a backend guy can program but they are not interchangeable and teaching one to do the others job would be a lot of time and effort
>>105928883You must learn powershell to do the needful.
>>105928883>both a front end guy and a backend guy can program but they are not interchangeablelol yes they are it's just that a backender doesnt want to do frontend garbage because webshit is boring prechewed garbage
What projects do i need to do in order to learn the full stack?
>no new thread
can't believe everyone itt is getting laid off because they opened powershell at work
>>105928908no they are not, its entirely different paradigms
backend guy would have zero clue about the browser outside of how to check API calls and have no concept of how the popular frontend frameworks work
frontend guy would have no idea about proper API design or security or distributed systems
languages are irrelevant but what you do with them is what matters and they are working in entirely different areas conceptually speaking
Please bake i am tired of indians raging at each others and retards thinking powershell makes them some sort of god in there caste system.
