It's nowhere near as bad as the rotting corpses known as JPG/H264 persisting in 2025. We only have corporations pushing cloud storage on us because keep using uber outdated technologies that take up TBs of storage space.

I don’t mind one drive if I don’t have to pay for it. Microsoft does have good productivity tools.

Even programs like WinAeroTweaker which have a whole host of fixes don't actually give you the option to disable it entirely. I COULD have missed it but I really doubt it, you can turn off defender and updates easier than getting rid of the onedrive spam.
