Reddit is already asking for verification of UK users for violence/gore/nudity subreddits. EU planning to roll it out with a digital wallet sometime next year. Thoughts? What's the real reason they are trying to turn the Internet into an American Online nanny ISP and why aren't tech companies fighting back? Shouldn't it be up to the parents to put censorship/nanny monitoring controls on their children's phones? Are we just going to go back to desktop apps to circumvent all of this HTTP monitoring?

Its not for "mature content". Its for censorship for adults with thinking brain. This is solely to suppress political content from Twitter which the new CEO exited the "voluntary" censorship that all other social media companies "voluntarily" censors for EU

Go to any random legal cryptoshekel platform, who have to verify your identity, and what you get is a redirect to an israeli run service where you hold your passport into your webcam and show your face.

I am sure they will figure something out to make tons of shekels out of that data.

Most EU countries already have mandatory electronic ID cards that we use to authenticate with certain government-related services. Theoretically, if they truly wanted to, it would be trivial to mandate that websites gate all "undesirable" content behind an authentication screen AND required that user accounts be linked to a real world identity through already existing state-controlled services. Of course, it would be trivial to bypass for anything but regionally-targeted content. Korea does something similar, IIRC.

Here in France, our national digital ID app will not run if your phone has an unlocked bootloader or is rooted. Also, you can onlky install it from the Play Store, otherwise it won't start. At least, it's not strictly required for now, but I don't how long I'll be able to get away without using it. I'll probably end up getting another phone and SIM card for running this kind of cuckware.

I digged a bit into this and found two repositories of the European Union on GitHub:
Age verification https://github.com/eu-digital-identity-wallet/av-app-android-wallet-ui
Digital wallet https://github.com/eu-digital-identity-wallet/eudi-app-android-wallet-ui
There are video demos on how they works.
They seems to use the secure element inside phones to verify the human interacting, this ensures that requests are not made by bots.
The protocol seems to be a new standard by OpenID called OpenID4VP, which can verify only the required information requested by the app developer, webmaster, or by other people such as clerks, bouncers, policemen by using a dedicated verification app.
I don't like this but at least it seems to be following most of the best practices regarding security.

It doesn't have to be baked in ID.
In Poland we have online identity verification mechanism and you don't need special ID card for that. Just an account in bank or just email and password + 2FA. It's honestly very useful for government related things, you can login anywhere with it.
But using it outside of government owned websites should not be tolerated. Good thing we are not getting this age verification thing OP is talking about for now.

Have you read my post?
Data is stored on your phone, not on remote servers.
If you watch the demo videos you can see that you can import your driver licence, passport or id from your member state digital platforms and easily share that information on a granular level, letting you pick what to share.

>>105940616
>GrapheneOS
Maybe. I haven't looked at the code yet.

>Linux
No. There are only repos for Android and iOS. They designed the whole standard around the secure element in the phones, so a PC version is highly unlikely to be made. It also makes little sense having these kind of stuff. Are you going to pull out your thinkpad running arch linux when a policeman stops you for speeding?

this is far better than login with google/facebook/x or uploading your ID etc.
people who think this is le bad did not look at implementation, which is open-source
fyi it runs locally and uses cryptographic proofs. there is no centralized lookups and its far better for actually enforcing the existing data regulations
do you rather get tracked across hundreds of websites through your google ID so it can continue to gather everything they can find about you to sell it to the highest bidder and serve you ads and have it leak to retarded jeets?
or do you rather continue to send your ID + drivers license + face + email + phone + address to that startup fintech's server then?

my only and real whitepill is that the websites that comply with this shit will die and they should as they were collaborators already.

lets take for example: https www.xnx x com/ they have a huge banner about https porn biz com/post/17/the_scam_of_age_verification and they themselves say that when a user sees "age verification" he just closes the tab and looks for a more "based" website. what they do not want to mention is the word "based" - they did not mention it, but they should have. xnxx is a collaborator of the EU regime: it removed many videos in the past and removed anything with "rape porn". It complied and complied and collaborated and licked the boot and.... oh my now they are going to be killed. Oh no!!! How will I ever use yandex to find more based russian porn websites???? can this happen? Yes. it can. and it should. and it will / does. I have been using the real freedom of speech part of the internet for the past few years using yandex search and using a lot of russian websites for porn and do on. websites based in russia do not have to collaborate with the EU and thus can host any content and display it to any person, of any age. Websites like xnxx can lose 94% of their traffic and it will be their own doing.

But its not even just websites. I have tried to use torrents for porn and it worked like a charm when i needed a hidden huge collection for travelling. Even if I can advocate about the incoming Russian dominion / occupation over the based web, there are still illegal but available and easy to use ways to get the content you want.

in many ways this may be a giant whitepill in the long run as only the based services that were already illegal will have the based content. there will no longer be a border region between normie sphere and illegal based sphere - if you want to be based you will do illegal shit.. Rape porn in the future will be freely available on the homepage of porn websites.

Based.

they hate you. they hate me. i hate them. if you are not in a hate-hate relationship you lose. of course people that hate you and who you hate will have less of a mind grip over you - you will come up with ingenious solutions to their bullshit that will make them cope, seethe and dilate. the end goal is not to control me - some autist who made multiple MEP ( members of the european parliament ) rope themselves , but to control normies. normies of course will too just go to another website that is smaller and does not require age verification so i do not even think the MEPs are going to succeed, but they are annoying, I will give them that.

perhaps the real end goal is for them to be annoying.

We are here
>Age verification to turn off safesearch on google (currently under implementation in Australia)
Implementation of EU digital ID wallet to generate auth tokens for, after they made a long discourse to claim its benefits and how much it is designed with privacy in mind. It can verify the full ID or generate tokens to verify age, citizenship, person hood etc
>Proof of citizenship required to comment on political topics on social/news sites
>Proof of citizenship required to buy any services to ensure the consumer is not getting lower prices by connecting from a VPN in Moldova
Etc.
It is not guaranteed that third parties that exploit digital ID won't to do nefarious stuff like evaluating political/credit/tax/social scores, auto conscript the youth, or logging any activity that triggered a request of a part or the entirety of personal profile data in the future.
>>105940715
It would be ideal if the zero knowledge proof protocol is applied on these aspects. Until a vulnerability allowing false claims, that is. Or editors asking for accurate profiling data as a form of compensation because implementation costs money.

one could argue change used to be somewhat positive. I can but probably should not, post 10 different graphs showing that people these days just kill themselves rather than live in the new normal. suicide is the fastest growing trend to cope with how things are changing. Things are going so bad, the inflation is hitting the price of ropes hard enough that people cannot even hang themselves anymore.

There is an absolute war on at the minute to collect every bit of data they can about everyone. If you go into one of the express supermarkets and pay at the till they're recording your face. Pretty much everyone in the UK has used one of those tills at some point.

There is an app (MitID) that is mandatory in Denmark, mandatory in the sense that you can't access your bank, the inbox the government sends you digital letters to, and can't make purchases online without using this app.
It also function as a age verification, when i buy vapes online, it wants me to confirm my age using this app.

So on my PC a QR code comes up which it wants me to scan with the app.. I only have the app on one device (my phone), so i scan the QR code with the app on my phone..
It's actually pretty good, because you are replacing passwords with this app. I don't have to enter a password to go into my bank account, similar with credit card information etc.

Before this app we had a "key card" thing, the government would send out these physical letters with a laminated set of key cards in it (pic related).
If you bought something online or the likes, teh website would give you a number and you then had to look at the key card for that number and enter the corresponding "key".

That was fucking annoying..

Of course they want that data, but the big free porn sites know that if they introduce age verification they'll lose 99.9 % of their visitors (conservative estimate). People will just migrate to other free porn sites without age verification and these will always be around unless a state or the EU takes extreme measures (Ursula might dream of it, but it'd be a huge effort requiring broad political support, large sums of money and actual competence). And even then people would still find ways.

I predict that just right after every internet connected service needs to verify ID in the EU, a new plandemic will break out.
Last time a lot of people didn't get the clotshot because people shared A LOT of stuff.
>People standing in line to get the killshot while paramedics wheel out people who died seconds to minutes after administration
>Officials getting injected with empty/fake/cap-still-on needles in front of camers
>Obituary screenshots next to screenshots of the same people bragging that they got the clot
>People just collapsing out of the blue
>People's arms and legs rotting away at the injection site
>Those black growths in People's mouths
>Women losing their period after getting it
>Women post menopause starting their periods again after getting it
>Pregnancies just failing with burnt out placentas
>Still births
>People emitting bluetooth MAC addresses in the woods without any tech nearby for some fucking reason?
>Magnets adhering to peoples injection sites
>Magnets pulling on pools of metal near the injection sites
I could go on. Not all true. Not all fake. But still a lot of commotion that made all non-asleep people of all intelligence levels question the status quo and the narrative of the governments. Can't have that if we want a dystopia where the government cannot be held accountable.

as the other anon mentioned: it will happen in USA too, although it already has happened it some states. If you want to escape Zog, you must either go to central asia, or to africa, presummably north africa as central and south are ...... and also you should consider oceania and south america. I will not lie, only central asia and north africa are somewhat good places to escape zog. Mongolia, Khazahstan, Tunisia, Morocco.... those may be the best places to go if you want to escape zog..... they of course are all shitholes... but you will be free there.

no. the people around you are also consuming it. Mongolians who live in the steppes and hunt and live as they did 5000 years ago will not radiate zog ideology to you. And tech in some countries is too entrenched: the danish fag above mentioned needing age verification already if he uses official banking methods... probably you can go with less official ones, but at some point having to have illegal crypto cards, going to mixers every month and doing illegal transactions, that if too similar and recurring can also be traced back to you... at some point, it just better to just try to go to a country where zog has not already inserted its poison. Will khazahstani people or Mongolians welcome you? Probably not, but they may be the least zogged people left.... and also some muslim countries, but you must be a muslim enjoyer to stay there.

oh and did i mention that for a illegal crypto card to work, your bank account you get your salary to should also be a less official one.... so even your employer will complain about your crypto account .... basically you must go all in on being a dark economy person and Euro fags hate this shit because they love the government. This is not the soviet union that made laws and the people were all in the dark sector and did not care and the soviet union had large amount of freedom.... no - europe today has faggotry emanating from the people themselves. They are the faggots. the normal people. The MEPs are in many ways just normies doing what the normies want.

When I talk about buying 200 Liliana, Dreadhorde General in order to transfer money illegally thought the border, europeans' first idea is to start telling me how this is illegal, I should pay taxes, I must report goods on borders...... faggots. I have ideas on how to break every law in the EU but these damn faggots just cannot understand the benefits.

No such choices here in BE, last time I had passport renewed they had a fingerprint machine..

I'm opposed to the hole age verification thingy. I'm sure there's a lot of good intentions right now to use it 'for good' and don't log what kinks a viewer frequents. But EU also has GDPR and look what data is kept on us. It's going to get misused/abused, and EU is going to do jack shit, just like how they allow FAGMAN to collect data and just collect minor fines (EU Tax I call it)

the age verification thing is part of a broader application that is called the EU Digital Wallet. It can store and provide information that are subject to data regulation rules such as your identity, address etc.
Companies, especially american ones, have a habit of requesting and storing more data than they are allowed to obtain and they do it in an unsafe way. the EU digital wallet app is supposed to be a reference implementation that websites/apps can easily use to request information in a way that complies with EU data regulations. it provides a one time auth token
They're doing age verification first because it has broad application and it's low risk. example:
>website request
{
"access_rules": [
{ "nationality": "DE", "min_age": 18 },
{ "nationality": "AT", "min_age": 16 },
{ "nationality": "SE" },
{ "min_age": 21 }
]
}

app opens on user's end: website x is
>using your nationality to determine access, allow yes/no
>using your age to determine access, allow yes/no
you can untick nationality for example, and if you are 21+ the app returns true/false

tl;dr this already exists in US and UK, it will use decentralized protocols and be anonymous and you will be able to circumvent restrictions anyway

>the EU Digital Identity Wallet (eIDAS 2.0)
>the system claims to minimize data exposure (e.g., confirming only "age โ‰ฅ 18" without revealing exact birthdates or identity)
>uses decentralized protocols like OpenID4VP to limit data sharing
>similar laws exist in the UK (Online Safety Act) and parts of the US (e.g., Louisiana, Utah), though enforcement varies
>decentralized alternatives (e.g., torrents, VPNs, non-EU sites) may circumvent restrictions

We can thank third world US for this spying and tracking shit like always.
