The EQ test did seem effective. Just rained for 48 hours on my 5090 and back tot he regular 1.2B training and I think it did give some out of the box improvements to composition.

I believe there's no downsides from doing an EQ pass on the VAE. It's just cleaning up the VAE's latent space and making it less complex expressing the same features by consolidating features into the same latent neighborhoods rather than having them drift based on orientation and scale.

Basically the VAE as is does not see these as the same hand. An upright hand is treated completely differently as a hand turned to the right. A large upright hand is treated differently from the same hand but smaller. What EQ does is train the VAE to realize orientation and scale still go to the same hand. My hypothesis is some of the body horror and hand problems we see is actually due to this inherent problem in VAEs and a diffusion model is forced to learn antagonistically that the VAE is "lying" to it about features but it's likely why complex or abnormal poses like a person doing a handstand often results in body horror.

Unless the paper is completely wrong (which I doubt) I think the theory and math show it's something you should do. The question is why it speeds up convergence by 7x and whether there are other unexplored benefits of doing this. For example, you might see much better pose-to-pose generations of say a tiger going from a crouching position to a springing position, as that tiger will be closer and simply expressed within the latents rather than the model treating that tiger as two completely different entities. So not only should they try it, but it's probably an essential component going forward for any training because like in the case of Chroma with 5-day epochs, a 7x speed-up is like having a full month (or more) of training every week.

I am generating anime videos but using a lora that was obviously trained on 3D real-world videos. With the weight at around .66, I get roughly the action I want, but it will only sometimes keep the original artstyle of the input image. A lot of the time the anime character(s) will start picking up that 3D look. It changes between random seeds. It also gives me body horror nightmare fuel about 30% of the time.

Chroma has trained on tons of artstyles, but the training has clearly not tied them to contemporary artist names, for obvious reasons.

So if you want to use a specific contemporary art style, you will have to train a lora for it. Just like with SDXL and Flux etc.

Been using LoRA Easy Training Scripts for a while to make style lora's, and while most of my 2d styles turn out pretty good, I always seem to have issues with 3d styles. You mask the hair area, you don't even have to be super careful with the masking. If you use the same seed there should be pretty much zero changes to anything except the hair, and of course anything outside of the mask will remain fully static.

Having a lot of trouble with the pulldown/undressing loras on wan. If the input image involves a character holding up some of their clothing, like a girl holding up her dress or her shirt, they will drop it down 95% of the time, and the remaining 5% involves other weird things happening. No amount of conditioning seems to change this.

Forge mostly, I have some Comfy workflow as well, but it's so quick and seamless in Forge.

There are probably 20+ videos on Forge inpainting on YT, and if not, A1111 works practically exactly the same.

Yes, that would be ideal, make sure to give them a unique caption trigger so that you can effectively prompt for them.

Like 'boobaa' for the hot chick, and 'chadicus' for the hero guy, then you can prompt 'boobaa female is standing on a rooftop, next to her is chadicus male'.

Also if you are serious about this, you NEED to use img2img as it gives you insane control over composition, basically you can use extremely rough sketches (just a step up above stick men) and easily guide the results to what you want.

I got the latest t2v lightx2v 14b working. I had to turn off teacache, and use steps 4 cfg 1, but god damn, it actually cranks out a quality 121 frame 480p video in about 120 seconds.
