Idk I find windows 10 already awful. I haven't used 11 and I only use Windows because my client forces everyone to use that dog shit OS with bitlocker, office 365, and other garbage software. I suppose it will be even worse.

I'm from Scandinavia and my MS device needed repair. First time in my life. Calling the support, it actually connects to Hungary and instead of Finnish I am forced to speak English from the get go.
I don't mind I have lived in UK in the past but that's a funny situation for older generation for example.
First call - I need to spell my name and address in English to... some hungarian? She puts me on hold and then disconnects. Second call, it's someone who actually wants to do their job.
AI is probably an improvement but why tf this is a thing in the first place? Why am I not able to get support in my local language etc.

I have no problems with my Win 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC install. It even works fast for older laptops from around 2010.
The problem with Windows is also that we shouldn't NEED to use special case versions of the system just for it to be non-shit.
As for Linux, it's mainly popular only in two cases - smartphones and certain servers. But that's all, desktop use is still very low compared to the amount of machines with internet access around the world. Some people on /g/ are completely disconnected from reality. I haven't met a single person using Linux as their desktop/laptop OS and myself, I only used it to "resurrect" laptops with hard drives which had lots of bad sectors, so that Windows would fail to install, but Ubuntu, for an example, would.
As it is, there isn't any pressure (for now) which would force mass Linux adoption over Windows, as the majority of users heard about it somewhere, but get turned off by the still present, depending on the distro, sound and graphic driver issues which aren't HARD to overcome, but an average user treats command lines in a Terminal, be it Linux or Windows, as black magic. Unfortunately, the younger generations are surprisingly much less tech savvy than people just a decade older, making Android or iOS shit that "just werks" much more popular among them. I've seen Motorola phones who hide a setting like changing your call chime under "Advanced" options. It's like the companies believe their users are such absolute idiots they have to make every app or Android version as retard proof as possible. There's less and less options, more homogenization and I'm seeing it even in the Linux sphere, where various distros, which surprisingly begin to receive funds from corporations, to become THE distro which would be the most popular. I don't think we can escape "enshittification" as long as unqualified jeets, danger hair women, trannies and AI (so-called) are employed to make software. These people are 99% idiots.
