Crocs are faster, organs can process deeper waters and way higher salinity, faster metabolism as a result, webby-er feet and tails, stronger swimmers in general. The most differential mark is their narrower snout and smaller, sharper, more compact teeth. I believe they have an extra protective inner eyelid in most cases. They act in a pact manner more often and will actively hunt as opposed to scavenging or ambushing out of convenience.
Alligators have a stronger skeletal and muscular system, wider mouths and bite force with fewer more conical teeth evolved for crushing into prey and holding on, generally grow to be more dense and massive and rely on that to ambush and control their targets, their enlarged medulla makes them more aggressively territorial overall. They also act more like a deer or cattle group than a pack, males bull on each other for harems and territory etc. but otherwise are fairly solitary.
