It's a fair point, there's only three inches of white space between those two posters, compared to over 9 inches between the other three posters in my living room. The space is cramped in the literal sense, but doesn't feel like it thanks to the high ceilings. I have long been on the lookout for one big square art piece, to hang over my fireplace. Still haven't found anything I like for a bargain price.

No shit; read interior design magazines from the past and modern blog equivalents online.
When you read how people casually explain the positive and negative aspects of different interior design elements you start to see what makes something look appealing.
Look at what’s going on in OPs room, take away the plants for a moment.
The rug, the runner on the table in the foreground, the fabric choice and color of the seat. They’re all complimentary textures that break up smooth surfaces. And many of the details in that space are doing that, the wood grain of the desk vs the adjacent drawers vs the floor. The positioning of items on the wall to break up the walls surface. The presence of that curtain hides the corner of a smooth flat surface.
And it’s all kept in a balance where you still want these elements like the flat face of the walls and floor to be present, but not overpowering.
And that’s not some advanced thing, that’s stuff people do passively without knowing, you just know it looks good when things are a certain way.

yeah i absolutely love that setup. very good, desk and supports with the cable mgmt and everything is very clean. i reckon i'd use speaker covers to keep the visual clutter down but looks good without too. about keychron etc, i hate RGB backlit shit, it's tacky at best, and at worst creates visual glare on monitors or distracts in dark rooms. there are better wireless keyboards and mice, but desu nothing wrong with wired, but rather several advantages to them. but yeah, kino setups anyway anon.

IDK how many people I've seen still using late 90s era hardware well into the mid-2000s.
Only a handful of people I know had a PC that was actually bought after 2000. Most of the time a super low end socket 478 PC with XP or god forbid a Socket A system with Windows ME
It seems like in general a good chunk of the population around me got their first PC during the 90s dotcom boom and just stuck with them until mid-late 2000s. Only until people got access to broadband did people actually get an updated machine with Vista or 7.

In some ways the 2000s never rolled around. There was a period between 2006-2008 where me and a friend got some hand me down XP capable PCs even if only a 1.6Ghz P4 or a 700mhz Duron but those where only held onto for a short spell, we had access to the internet atleast.
2009 was the first year I personally had access to a PC that was current.

I'd honestly recommend sticking to 2 monitors since 3 is overkill (especially if all three are 32 inches) unless you're stacking all three vertically.

The real shit is a compound that glows by itself on contact with a fluid, but that requires real bodily fluids and it only works for a very short time, not exactly fit for recording TV.

I just didn't want to use the laptop's own screen and wanted to put the keyboard on the laptop(Ryzen 5800H + RTX3060 mobile). I have like 5 other monitors and a lot of old-obsolete laptops and PCs. Going through a crisis of meaning and purpose in my life and this is what I am rocking for the moment.

Yeah, it appears to be a pretty common problem in our times. I wonder though, would focusing on building a tricked out setup fill the hole. I mean I have most of components already and at one time I did have something that represented the max of my fiscal resources could afford. But had to move away for a job and had another scaled down setup there.
I wonder if buying even more monitors, even more peripherals will continue to fill the void or would diminishing returns set in and one day nothing would scratch the itch.
I also collect watches and fountain pens. And to some extent atleast for the moment accruing things does help but isn't a silver bullet.

Getting things and doing projects here and there helps fill the void.

I do feel a purpose beyond that. Having grown up relativly poor, I feel I am the one that should be the one to bring my family to being proper middle class. It's been easier that I have expected because I've learned how to manage money much better than my peers. My dad died, so I technically own two trailers, but I don't want to slumlord like he was planning to.

i don't think it will fill a hole per say but it will benefit you in many ways to at the very least use the stuff you already have but rearrange it and clean it and put things away, make it different, will likely bring you some positive comfort and make things feel fresh for at least awhile. i rearranged my entire room configuration a few months ago and i'm still enjoying it, often just taking it all in and appreciating it, and breaks up memory. cause now i think back on previous times and my setup was all different than now when these present memories are being made if that makes sense. nothing will scratch the itch as you put it, so there is no point in striving for that, rather just working with what you have or adding something new / getting rid of something later on little by little is much better than just going all out trying to fill some void.

This thing costs about $800-$900 so I won't call it cheap. The best thing about it is that it uses RGB laser source so it is truly BT.2020 capable like the high end theater projectors.
It is also USB C powered so it works with power banks and also very small that it fits easily in backpack.

I want down that route before. Pretty all of these cheap shit suck, with low brightness and low native resolution.
I bought one that did not lie about being native 1080p and 200 ANSI lumen (still very pathetic) for about $150, and in the end it still uses cheap Fresnel lens that adds ugly ring artifacts to image.
There are pretty much no good options of any kind below $300. Definitely go for a name brand that doesn't skimp on the optics.

Problem with most setups is the fact they all are using some tiny mouse pad. Pad needs to be approx 1.5 feet long or more or otherwise you are risking an injury.

Since you have a general vision for what you want, drill down a little on some basic colors and textures you would like to incorporate. With that you can scour the interwebs or local stores for some main items that are absolutely necessary, e.g. a bed, a desk and a chair. The rest I'd suggest adding on as you go, when you find something that you like and that fits the scheme. With Japandi it's anyways easier to start, as it's more minimalist and less is more.

I generally prefer to get things that have a story to tell, e.g. the bookshelf that's behind the camera. I bid on it on the local auction platform and got it for a symbolic buck. Because my car was broken at the time and the other cars are too small, I couldn't pick it up easily, so I rigged up a contraption with wheels and brought it home on the bus and train instead.
