github.com/massgravel/Microsoft-Activation-Scripts
HWID2 generates and registers a permanent legitimate license on MS's activation servers
Usage: paste into Powershell, run.

Same method, use Ohook
You can also use Office.com if your needs are very minimal
or try OnlyOffice/LibreOffice and set it to save in MSOffice file formats

Ehh!? For a few months now I'm trying to wrap my head around this in part for my dad that wants German language and Adobe CC. Finally I'm installing stuff and am struggling, found yesterday Enterprise LTSC 21H2 can not be activated or switched to other editions when its the trial iso. I went this route as it's explained in the guide for languages other than english and there is no warning of trial versions. Thought we'd rather have an official iso. I'll know whether Adobe CC in recent versions runs again on LTSC 21H2 IoT or if compatibility mode will do the trick or if I'm stuck again.

What is the note IoT LTSC 2027 about? It's becoming more and more sexy to give up on that route and install conventional W11 trying then to buckle in the bloat by means of firewalls, http proxies, OOSU10 and the like. Are there some guides that document the connections that W11 attempts against Microsoft? We could go for a not activated trial forever..

I'm currently on an old W10 Enterprise LTSC build that can't handle DirectX 12. Is it as easy as downloading the files under the 'Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 21H2' and going from there to upgrade or am I gonna have to do some sort of clean wipe. I would really rather prefer not to do that if possible.

Of course that is literally the point of LTSC but recommending it for a new install is very different. Unless your autism makes it impossible for you to accept any change, there is no reason to not install 2024 LTSC, especially if you intend to use it as-is until at least 2027.

at the end, after tweaking task scheduler, there used to be a part about going to registry and revoking write privileges for windows update (and everyone else) but now it's replaced by SCM
is that the mysterious process that was reverting changes and both guides basically do the same thing? the registry bit didn't specify what was undoing things
i feel like blocking registry for Windows update is more foolproof

Appears to be supported according to Microsoft's supported AMD processors table (and AMD's own CPU info page). Doesn't look like a multi-CCD design, especially as it's a Ryzen APU.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/minimum/supported/windows-10-22h2-supported-amd-processors
If you desire, then go ahead - just make sure your OEM offers Windows 10 drivers for best results. Otherwise check the IHV's support page for drivers designed for 10.
>sometimes drivers marked for Windows 11 may also work with 10, either as-is or with a simple INF mod changing the minimum supported Windows version. this is not a general rule
>(note that modifying the INF will invalidate the signature, so you will have to temporarily disable Driver Signature Enforcement, just during the installation)
>and as a last resort, check Microsoft Update Catalog to find missing drivers for a specific device (use the 4-part hardware ID as the search query); Also try Snappy Driver Installer Origin

Anonymous No.106138667 [Report] >>106142630
>>106138447
Shift-click on the "Name" sorting column. Make sure you're already on last-modfied sorting when you do that.
As a sanity check - repeatedly click on the date modified sorting column - hopefully it should stick as folders will always be shown first regardless whether it's reverse-chronological or not.
>by the way, that's how you actually do sorting by multiple criteria. shift-clicking defines the following ordering as secondary, tertiary and so forth. regular clicking makes it primary

You may wish to make this permanent by going to Folder Options (accessible from Ribbon's View tab -> Options), then click on View tab (once again) and press "Apply to all folders".

After upgrading my TV to a newer "smart" one (yeah, the old one was old enough that that wasn't yet an ubiquitous thing) I'm encountering issues when trying to switch my display to it when it's not yet completely ready (still turning on, input device not switched over, etc) where it will give up and switch back to the other monitor, but annoyingly it won't let me try the TV again unless I explicitly tell it to switch back to the monitor, then try switching to the TV again.

Anyway this is fucking with my scripts since I want to be able to just click an icon and have it turn the TV on via HDMI-CEC, switch display to it, and switch the input device to the PC (if necessary), but sometimes it fucks up and goes back to the monitor instead because the TV didn't boot up fast enough. Short of increasing the wait time a bunch to be absolutely sure everything is ready in time is there a way I can just configure it not to even try to detect if the display device is ready and just switch the output regardless? My old TV used to work this way but I think it's trying to be more "helpful" now that it's receiving more info back which is causing me problems.

So after some looking around I saw some recommendations to use an EDID emulator like https://www.amazon.com/Woieyeks-Virtual-Emulator-Headless-Supports/dp/B0CKKLTWMN to trick the PC into thinking the display is always on. I don't actually need 3 but couldn't find any option to buy a single one for cheaper, but anyway will this thing have any side effects like making my PC detect the resolution/refresh rate of the device incorrectly, or cause any degradation of visual quality or increase in input lag? Kind of annoying to have to buy something to get around what I feel like SHOULD be a settings/registry fix but at $6.99 it's not a big deal assuming it won't have unwanted side effects.

all those devices do is provide a "display present" signal and respond to EDID commands with a built in EDID that probably just has every common resolution/refresh rate set in it
simply put, it acts like a monitor just without actually having a display. so no, there's no difference in terms of latency and i can't think of any possible side-effects of using one.
EDID is a specification that enabled computers to query a monitor's capabilities. it's how your computer knows what resolutions and refresh rates your monitor supports. they weren't always a thing, in the early '90s and prior you had to configure this yourself, sometimes even your monitor would come with a disc with such settings to install in windows manually.

-- also, you can sometimes achieve the same thing in software, but this is often made more of a pain than it should be because it's not really a consumer function. it's up to the display driver whether it makes this easy or not. there's no technical reason why a gpu can't output a picture even without a monitor attached. this was actually easy to do back in the VGA days because you could literally just shove a few resistors into the VGA port to trick a gpu into believing a display is connected

So... If I have one of these in HDMI slot 2, my TV in HDMI slot 1, and my PC monitor in displayport slot, TV is off, PC is set to display on slot 1, but slot 1 is off, slot 2 is on... it won't fallback to displayport slot 1 even though the slot I'm trying to display on still isn't on?

despite my dad having Norton and Defender installed, he somehow managed to fuck his shit up. Some sort of malware got installed that completely removed Windows Defender, disabled Norton with zero possibility of enablement, turned off all networking abilities and completely removed or disabled any settings in the GUI or command line to re-enable networking, and removed the ability to change anything in services.msc or the command line even with admin privileges. everything i tried came up with some sort of error about a module not found, or that i didn't have privileges (as an admin), and almost never provided a numbered error code to look up on the internet. it also made all files unreadable, like you couldn't open a text file or images or fucking anything. i already wiped it for him with a bootable debian disk and reinstalled a fresh Windows 11 but out of curiosity what the fuck kind of malware is that? i thought it might be ransomware but there was no message about who to pay or whatever, seemed like there was no real endgame for the malware developer. it was really fascinating and bizarre, i havent used windows in like 15 years and havent had a run-in with viruses in 20 years.

Try getting the latest non-DCH package (I believe Nvidia stopped releasing them after R470 or R495 driver branch), extract NvCplSetupInt.exe from the package and launch it.
Not sure if you have to modify setup.cfg inside the executable first (you will have to unpack the installer to do the changes), so that it won't complain about you directly running the installer.

I guess you wish to uninstall the AppX control panel package first. Do it preferably from Powershell elevated prompt like this:
Get-AppxPackage -Name NVIDIACorp.NVIDIAControlPanel -AllUsers | Remove-AppxPackage -AllUsers
Get-AppxPackage -Name NVIDIACorp.NVIDIAControlPanel -AllUsers | Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage -Online

I won't tolerate this slander, Windows 8 is fucking amazing and every retard out there pisses on it without even knowing what it does. Just like pineapple on pizza. Herd mentality. Windows 8 is the only version that is more performant than it's predecessor (win7) and that can run on shittier hardware. It has incredible customization options and no telemetry by default. It didn't have the gay tablet gestures that 8.1 added, and it had all sorts of quality of life improvements over win7, like... Everything working well; the task manager always responds, and it actually shuts down processes instead of asking politely.
8.1 is shit. 8.0 is golden, a misunderstood gem that was unfairly shit on because of it's start menu, which can be fixed just by installing startisback. My secondary puter (shit specs from 2006) runs Win8.0, it's simply win7 but bettar.

How fast is Winhoes 8?
I tested Winhoes 7 Pro for a while on an old E6330 I picked up with spare change. With an SSd installed, 7 starts up a few second quicker than Winhoes 10 running on my Ryzen7 machine.
I got bored of 7 eventually and swapped it out for Ubuntu to try out Linux. Most of my software needs Windows 10, but on 7 I could do some image editing and posting on the 4chinz and stuff. Homegroup thing in 7 & 8 is cool, but that's about it. I was on a Vista machine too long before jumping into the modern age with Win10 in 2021.

I usually leave task manager open on a second monitor and recently I noticed that it shows itself using up to 10% cpu usage in processes when usually it only uses ~2%. In the details tab, it only uses 2%, so I guess it has a mind of its own and wants to feel important. This is an incredibly minor thing that doesn't matter, but it still annoys me.
Anonymous No.106172702 [Report] >>106172767

Despite what you may think, Details view is actually far easier for Task Manager to process.
Processes must
>enumerate windows
>extract window icons
>get window titles
>establish window relationships (top level, parent, child, hidden etc.)
>put all this in an owner drawn list
Details must
>call NtGetProcessInformation
>dump it unmodified into a system drawn listbox

That makes sense. The reason I noticed the higher usage is because I recently switched to firefox and have been keeping an eye on its performance. I noticed task manager cpu usage goes higher when firefox is playing something full screen, so I suppose the way firefox handles full screen video is harder for it to process than how chromium does it.

>SecureUXTheme, the "UXTheme hook" Windhawk tweak, and UltraUXThemePatcher comes to my mind when it comes to actively developed projects
Paired with DWMBlurGlass/OpenGlass, Windhawk tweaks like Aerexplorer, and StartIsBack/StartAllBack for proper start menu and taskbar, you should gain a 7-like UI.

Forget about trannymodding system files with replacing their resources like icons and graphics, though. Not worth the hassle, especially as the system's Resource Protection will restore genuine files from the Component Store.

Don't use SDIO to blindly install/update every driver proposed, as not every driver is guaranteed to be 100% appropriate.
Last time I ran it, it recommended me to update Intel chipset device drivers, which doesn't really make much sense given what these drivers actually do.
>well, "drivers" - these "chipset drivers" are basically .INF files with no own .sys driver to load - basically a null driver to get rid of that yellow bang from the device manager, and name the device accordingly
>or in edge cases: making it use Windows' own (e.g. pci.sys), which would make sense e.g. when using older Windows on not era-appropriate hardware
>anyway, you'd be bloating the driver store at worst on this one
Hell, I'd use SDIO only as a last resort, when all reasonable methods fail (OEM and IHV driver pages, Windows Update or Microsoft Update Catalog.)

With trustable alternatives, only 3DP Net and 3DP Chip come to my mind.

But its command line, unless you have a GUI frontend. You can try Motrix to download anything, but its Electron...

a while ago i activated windows using irm https://get.activated.win | iex then hwid. today i got a bee in my bonnet about the esu stuff so using massgrave again I changed to windows professional and and activated via tsforge. I'm pretty sure it all worked, every seemed to say it did. got all the Client-ESU-Year1-3 then year 6 and all say The product is permanently activated however in the actual windows settings it says stuff like you need to activate windows before you can personalize your pc and under activation setting it says windows not activated, I also can't change any personalization settings like wallpaper etc.

is that normal using the massgrave tsforge thing to get esu upgrades or did it fuck up somewhere?

the stars are aligning, MS is getting more and more hate and they're losing credibility in the enterprise space (the one they actually care about), so if this keeps going then there's a chance that the good-bad cycle will get fulfilled again

It's already ported to x86, but just on processors with NPUs and apparently some get limited support for now since support for x86 is half assed

DisableCortana (in literally every single memescript made in the last decade) also disables Windows Search. It's why /g/, Reddit, and the -2 SD community at large have so many start menu search problems.
The solution is, of course, "does it hurt when you smash your face in with a 2x4? Then don't do that."

After this did you restart before activating?

I would reboot and try HWID again. I have always used the HWID option on over 100 machines and never had an issue. Make sure you have no pending updates and reboot the system first.

yeah it restarted to apply the updates after changing to professional.

i think i fixed it after seeing some people with similar issues i activated windows using massgrave kms38, which from my understanding is more client side only? anyway after doing that now everything is working fine and windows says its activated and checking activation status with massgrave the 4 esu years all say The product is permanently activated and the client machine one says Volume activation will expire 2038-01-19 so think its all good now?

Using tsforge (after using hwid a while ago) and then kms38 is alright...right? any way I can tell if I've fucked something up or if I'll be getting the esu updates alright? or should/can I use hwid with tsforge instead of kms38 and tsforge?

What's the current consensus of AME Wizard and it's playbooks? Is there something trashy behind it or why is it almost not mentioned?
