I lucked out, apparently 900 or so people applied to this internship and only 30 of us were selected. I present PowerPoints of premade slides covering dumbed down comp sci fundamentals to children aged 7-14. Sometimes I host Minecraft servers for them instead. I’m a senior with all personal projects in linear regression techniques for AI.

I'm surprised the job market for people who spent 4 years and $120k studying cavemen is so slow

I completed 77 job applications last month and I'll have it up to about 100 by the end of the week.
I'm graduating in May and I already have some certifications which I won't name that should put me on the short list with certain employers but I don't want to risk finishing college unemployed.
If it happens anyway, I'll make sure there was literally nothing I could do to avoid it.

I have $50 monthly dollars coming in as investment dividends. I have that to survive. Life is good, I will kill myself soon enough

With exotic subjects like this you don't really aim to get a job in that specific field. Whether that's anthropology or astronomy. Most of them end up as government officials or in the regular office world.

Liberal arts, social sciences, history etc. still qualify you for all kinds of white collar work, because finishing any kind of degree proves that you have above average reading comprehension etc. On the other hand many STEM graduates will find out that their degree is not worth much more either. Pure mathematics or physics without a practical application (engineering, data analysis) don't have a specific job market either.

>So fellow comp sci majors, how we doing?
I graduated 11 years ago so I'm actually doing pretty well. I feel bad for entry levels who are just graduating or just graduated but maybe its not as bad as the memes.
I was laid off last year along with a few hundred other people and they threw bricks of money at our faces to sign a severance agreement saying we couldnt work for them for another year and i picked up a new job rather quickly and am enjoying it more than my last job. 100% remote too, just like my last job.
>certs
I have zero certs
