RTX 50 Super: might launch in Q4 '25, 24GB VRAM for 5070 Ti & 5080 Super, 18GB for 5070 Super
>Omissions
RTX 5070 Ti: buy if you need CUDA, if you value DLSS/Reflex that highly, and if the 5060 Ti 16GB or 5070 isn't performant enough.
RTX 5070: buy if it's reasonably priced & if you plan to work around potential VRAM bottlenecks.
RX 9070 non-XT: worth considering if it's significantly cheaper than the 9070 XT.
Intel 13 & 14th gen i7/9 -K CPUs: BIOS update required due to reliability issues. Recommended to set a CPU VR voltage limit (1.4 or 1.45V).
>Product Notice
AOC Q27G40XMN: nice budget 1440p miniLED monitor but inconsistent QC.
Bad one causes DisplayHDR setting to look overbrightened and desaturated when applying the best local dimming option.
Gigabyte RTX 50 & RX 9000 video cards: thermal gel has QC issues, Gigabyte claims only early production batches were affected.
https://www.igorslab.de/en/update-on-thermal-putty-on-gigabyte-graphics-cards-after-further-storage-oil-separation-to-an-alarming-extent-and-silence-as-a-strategy/
Avoid updating Gigabyte motherboard's RGB controller firmware, as it can disable board features such as Q-Flash Plus.

>>106161620Do you like ant sized everything?
So kind of following anon-advice I recently upgraded to picrel from msi z87-g43/i5 3.4GJZ 4670k
So, I guess, now I want to upgrade my graphics card to something low-mid range, may be used. Tought about Arc A770 or something like this. Probably would prefer slight more expensive NVIDIA for stability and compatability (i play old games mostly, 1440p though).
Please advice.

what is your experience with budget brands?
my previous pc was nothing but asus and corsair
I want to try the opposite
hello Lads i come to you with a question
So i am planning to upgrade my pc got new mobo+cpu to put inside(free so cant complain)
but the fan wont do since ive got only 70mm gap between mobo and case.
I am interested in getting Noctua NH-L9a-AM5
>https://noctua.at/en/nh-l9a-am5/specification
because of its low profile but im worried, wont the low profile and wide fan intervene with RAM sticks?
Other option ive got is Noctua NH-L9x65
>https://noctua.at/en/nh-l9x65/specification
I shouldnt have issues with interference with RAM but it only leaves 5mm gap, is this enough. My current setup leaves 10mm gap.
Which option of the 2 is preferable

I have the PG32UCDM in the OP, and I've found VRR flicker to be a serious issue. In games like Oblivion Remastered for example where you can have quite dark nights, the flicker is extremely noticeable. I turned off VRR in the monitor (and turned off any vsync in Nvidia control panel), which stopped the flicker. and honestly, I don't think I can tell the difference vs VRR being on? This is supposed to cause frame tearing, right? Is frame tearing less of an issue on OLED due to the pixel response time or something? I'm looking for tears and I can't find them, even with a framerate that moves in a ~20 frame range.

Same with having a camera monitoring you 24/7 to turn off the screen automatically, we've reached unreal levels of cope to gain maybe a few months before burn-in sets in for good (remember, as the OLEDs degrade, more voltage is pumped into them to keep their brightness, causing faster wear. >>106167704I got the hellhound (white) and it runs alright
>>106167676the main issue with VA is that I'd like to go 32" for a change but that would require going curved due to VA viewing angles which I'm biased against
>>106167572MiniLED is LCD cope, it's not advancing anywhere, local dimming is either decent but not enough zones, or atrocious. You still suffer from regular IPS and VA problems with each lit up zone.
OLED is goycattle territory
Display technology is in a pretty horrible state.
>>106167727yes
we've been coping ever since good CRTs went out of availability
>>106167723what makes OLED "goycattle"? it's the only enjoyable display tech and it's been like that for at least a decade. that's when pricds dropped massivelyand burn-in stopped being an issue
>>106167704not assrock thats for sure
if money is not a issue i would pick bewtween quicksilver or hellhound
i would still check reviews(as usual for everything) for thermals, build quality, noise, etc
>>106167735pay no attention to lcd trannies

>>106167762mini led owners on here are obsessed with oled for some reason
>>106167727Yes but high end ones can be good enough.
You can typically just move to OLED at that price point though.
If you insist on VRR, it can be an alternative to OLED due to lack of flicker.
>>106167794oled flicker is only a thing if you let your fps run wild, it's not an issue if you lock it in games.
>>106167762>and burn-in stopped being an issueIt's still happening, you can't fix it. 5 years expected lifetime for TCL's true RGB laptop OLED display.

The argument is that five years is a long enough time for people who want to keep up with the best PC displays.

worth it?
>>106167847It depends on how people use it (brightness, HDR always on [fucking stupid], intensity of burn-in mitigations, etc.)
5~7 years is a reasonable answer.
>>106167829That's 5 years under very specific usage conditions (read: lab controlled unrealistic conditions).
As a TV screen, it can probably last close to that, as a monitor for anything but movies and games exclusively, you can expect burn in after less than a year even on new monitors with "3 years warranty" which manufacturers often disregard by blaming it on you.
>>1061678881440p in 2025 to maximize one's framerate seems hard to justify since new AAA games have stopped being interesting and 4k has a lot to offer in terms of browsing comfort
>>106167895Too extreme, like Monitor Unboxed's burn-in test.
My OLED monitor has nearly 470 panel protect cycles, and there's no burn-in.
>>106167762>burn-in stopped being an issueToppest of keks
That's why you're a goy cattle
>>1061679441440p looks fine to me and sometimes when i can i'll play games at 4k with downsampling which makes games look really nice and clean looking.
>>106167670everything happens for a reason
>>106167892have you ever owned an OLED? brightness has never been an issue, if anything it's been a little too low but it gets better every year and the LG G5 now is insane in terms of brightness. you can't have HDR "always on", it will only work if there's HDR content and that's still relatively rare. intensity of burn-in mitigations is not really a thing either. you barely have any options because they know that some people are retarded so you don't give them the option to be even more retarded so they can sue you. you have to try really hard to get burn-in
>>106167952how many of your OLED TVs or monitors have suffered from burn-in?
>>106167888yea im looking at this too.
>>106168058>brightness has never been an issue, if anything it's been a little too lowEvery single consumer OLED display panel has ABL to prolong the usable lifespan of the organic material in the display.
Monitor Unboxed's worst-case burn-in test sets maximum brightness and disables all possible panel protection features; his monitor's showing visible signs of burn-in at this point.
>you can't have HDR "always on", it will only work if there's HDR content Except most OLED monitors won't let you adjust the brightness with HDR enabled, and some people don't lower the SDR brightness levels when they leave HDR on.

noob question here, is the Deepcool AK620 ZERO DARK a good option for a ryzen 7700x, at 1440p, I'm not sure of AIO's, and that one is at very reasonable prize, I can't get thermaltake meme'd in the op, tarifs place it at the same price of the cheapest noctua in my country.
