Cheers! The bookstore shutdown idea came up in a brainstorming session with Kimi K2 - with a lot of embellishments added by me in the character's backstory. I've been trying to find ways of extending the scenario to reach a more satisfying payoff - while making it at least interesting and enjoyable in the interim. Still working on honing my tools though. Yeah, I thought about that. Honestly, a lot of my cards could really use a few more greetings. I often get frustrated with the alt greetings on cards though, since the model is tempted to fill in the implied gaps with garbage - and as a writer you're forced to narrow the potential for the story to fit the user if you provide too many specifics. It's a fine line to walk between letting you build a backstory of shared media with the character and utterly railroading what that backstory is while making that backstory fit a broad range of users.

That sounds like a prompt (or model) issue. If my model starts inventing stuff that happened in the past I'll add a directive not to do that in my system prompt. If a card is specifically based on some stuff being open-ended for the user to fill then maybe I'll add the directive to the card too.

Not directly related, but if you haven't considered it already, you can use invisible text (<!-- HTML comments -->) to steer the model in the way you'd like in a greeting-dependent way. It can be useful, although hacky.

The genre tags are the only ones you put in the AN that actually belong in there, and those can fairly change the flow of a chat. I've played a campaign across 3 chats, it works well, but you just have to start a new chat after some 300+ messages because the responses become 40% fluff, 40% reminder of what happened and only 20% new things. That's the drawback of a huge context. Maybe limit the context and use summarization tools, idk. I'm a primitive and use brute force methods.
