It's different. CITY is slightly less slapstick and slightly more feel-good, with lots of recurring jokes and delayed payoffs.
Manga-wise, I prefer CITY manga to Nichijou, but Nichijou anime was fucking insane.
This week they went maximum soul so I have high hopes for this anime as well, though I'm not sure how it holds up for secondaries, there's a lot of stuff that gets glossed over
