RTX 50 Super: might launch in Q4 '25, 24GB VRAM for 5070 Ti & 5080 Super, 18GB for 5070 Super.
ASUS WOLED with TrueBlack Glossy film launched (XG32UCWMG, XG32UCWG). Limited availability.
>Omissions
RTX 5070 Ti: buy if you need CUDA, if you value DLSS/Reflex that highly, and if the 5060 Ti 16GB or 5070 isn't performant enough.
RTX 5070: buy if it's reasonably priced & if you plan to work around potential VRAM bottlenecks.
RX 9070 non-XT: worth considering if it's significantly cheaper than the 9070 XT.
Intel 13 & 14th gen i7/9 -K CPUs: BIOS update required due to reliability issues. Recommended to set a CPU VR voltage limit (1.4 or 1.45V).
>Product Notice

should i pull the trigger or wait for 24gb version
>>106202329Performance for a 5070 ti won't be limited by vram. 1440p is solved and if you want more it's probably better to go up a card
>>106202329Wait if you don't need a new card right now, but all those Super cards will be overpriced for a while.
There are some QC issues with those base MSRP PNY models; hopefully they've addressed the rattling fans.
The RTX 40 base MSRP PNY cards also had an annoying zero-rpm fan implementation (runs on and off too often).

>>106202403>but is the whole 4 sticks of DDR5 RAM perf problem still a thing? It can be done but you have to have lucky silicon on your memory controller and likely tune it. No guarantee to work but it has been done and it has worked. It's insane to me that they can't figure out how to run 4 sticks at advertised speeds out of the box. Apparently they are going to put the memory controllers on the ram itself next time instead of the cpus.

>>106202714Yes and as a bonus I never have to worry about my pc hardware. By the time aaa games are where I would buy them I can play them in 4k. I only just got cyberpunk during the summer sale and I play it in 4k with ray tracing on high on my 9070xt. At release in 2020 I would have needed a 3090 to do this that cost over $2500 in the market. I got my 9070xt for $630.

>>106202990That has nothing to do with silicon lottery, it should NOT boost over the max rated boost clock in the first place. It's basically unintentionally self-overclocking itself by a huge amount. Thankfully it's fixable by adjusting a slider in the ayymd driver.
>>106203067>it should NOT boost over the max rated boost clock in the first placeAll of these GPUs (GeForce, Radeon, & Arc) don't have a strict upper limit for the stock boost clocks; these chips are supposed to opportunistically boost as high as they can.
It shouldn't boost high enough to cause instabilities, though.
Even Arc B580's GPU is boosting past 2.8GHz when its average expected gaming boost clock is reported to be in the 2600s.

Is it over? XMP was off and i got the same result with a single stick too, these results have nothing to do with the CPU right?
Should I buy Speakers? Which ones? How much?
>>106203193Did you check each memory stick individually? If none of the memory sticks can pass that test at stock settings, you can't completely rule out the CPU being problematic.
If you've set a custom CPU undervolt or OC, revert it to default when you run memory tests (unless you're sure it's stable).
The CPU is the part that checks for errors; you need to be sure the CPU is stable for these tests.

I'm absolutely dying from waitfagging for the Intel ARC B770. In my area, a retailer is selling new, bulk unsold stock of the 3080 12gb for 388 euros. I'm currently on an RTX 3060 driving a 3440x1440 monitor on a mixed-use system for video editing and gaming. I would love to use the dual encoders on the B770, but the 3080 12gb is out now. What do? Buy the 3080 now or keep waitfagging until B770 drops in Q4?
>>106203240Just buy an edifier 1280 variant or edifier mr4. If no space, creative pebbles if really necessary .

I need to get a new mouse boys. I was using deathadders for years, and then a rival 300 for the last 7 or so. Now that I'm back in the mice game I see these brands Pulsar, Lamzu, ATK, etc? What mouse would I be happy with considering the other mice I've used in the past?
Thanks
>>106203384B770 won't be happening, just like the 9080 XT fan fiction.
These companies usually release their best & most profitable gaming GPUs first.
Refresh halo cards like the 3090 Ti were using a better-binned variant of an existing GPU.
Battlemage GPU design is extremely space inefficient; the B580's die size is slightly larger than a 5070.
A theoretical B770's chip might be larger than the 5080's, and Intel can only charge $500 at best, given the competition.
>>106203470Whats the rest of the build?

>>106203193Is this stock CPU with xmp? I had an issue where my CPU was causing my ram to fail with xmp. It was my 3700x.(I also had bad ram the first time so this was such terrible thing to diagnose). I had to return it for another 3700x. I would see errors in Windows event viewer, I can't remember what they were though but it was many of them. It could be worth a try, I know some stores like microcenter can loan CPUs for cheap, usually for bios updates if you wanted to check?
Let's say I have:
- 1 CPU;
- 2 motherboards of the same model, one of them was used in conjunction with that CPU for 1.5 years, another one is brand new;
- 3 different kits of RAM (2 of them are in mobo's QVL list).
System refuses to post every time there's more than one stick installed, on both mobos. Even more, every time it's DIMM B slot (it is two slot 1DPC motherboard model) that causes trouble. Does this mean the CPU's memory controller is faulty (because it's the only thing that didn't change in the equation)?
PC working again, it really was the Mobo with a major fallout, even though it looked just as new, no signs from outside.
Guess my PSU saved me from frying the other components by not powering on at all when CPU power cable was connected.
>>106203819Yeah that's extensive testing, and barring ludicrously bad luck of all your components having issues, I'm going to start blaming the CPU

I considered x870 motherboards but they add to the cost, so are they worthwhile? Also OLED monitors and the 21:9 aspect ratio; how about them? I'd appreciate advice anons
Can someone explain to me the difference between the different am5 chipsets?
>>106205261Regarding the monitor, I think they're really good with like a 1800 to 2000r curve. I have an IPS 21:9 and can't go back, especially for watching movies. Only downside would be if you play some 16:9 locked game for thousands of hours, then you'd probably get worn out pixels after a while. I play a lot of fighting games so I went IPS
>>106205269What stood out to me was that some have pcie 5 while others only have pcie 4:
https://www.amd.com/en/products/processors/chipsets/am5.html
>>106205274So from a reliability standpoint ips monitors are better? ips is also signifigantly cheaper than OLED so maybe I'll end up going that route
>>106205305You can get an LG 34n850nb for like $200-300 secondhand, I haven't looked at anything new. I do really enjoy the OLED monitors but for my autistic gaming habits, I had to go IPS for risk of wearing out pixels due to having the same ui for thousands of hours in the same spot.
But yes reliability will be IPS, OLED is MUCH nicer though and definitely worth it if you're not an autistlike me. I will eventually go all OLED/micro led when it comes out in the future though. My TV is OLED and it's amazing so I get the luxury of choosing my display
>>106205269the higher tier have more usb ports, pcie lanes, etc.
>>106205261>Also OLED monitors and the 21:9 aspect ratio; how about them?you can get a 4k 32" for the same price

Do you keep all of the boxes when you buy PC parts? I don't know why but I always have a mental block of throwing away boxes for expensive things.
Thoughts on this NAS build for a home media server?
https://pcpartpicker.com/b/xnfPxr
Not mine, but identical usecase. Was going to copy most of it, but maybe size the case down from the Fractal 804 to the 304 (can't imagine a realistic scenario where I'd need 10 drive bays instead of just 6 with large drives), and bump the CPU if I need to transcode or run some one-off apps. Don't plan on running RAID since I'm not using it for backup, just storage, and could always redownload shit if I need to.
>>106205676Keep the boxes for major components that you may either want to sell or need to RMA in the future.
Video card, motherboard, CPU, PSU, and monitor boxes are the ones I'd keep.
I've sold my CPU & motherboard recently, it was easy to find a buyer since I've kept all the original packaging.
Sold my video card last year, which was also easy to sell because I kept the original box (and shipping packaging).

I've been trying to undervolt my 7800x3d by reducing its SOC voltage (because i heard that the default 1.3V when using expo is le bad), PBO is on auto.
set it to 1.19V - bsod upon starting windows. 1.22V - same thing
should i try it with 1.25V or just give up and use the default value?
>>106209876Weird, but I'm glad you figured it out. Random crashes are the worst.
>>106210263how much soc is needed depends on your exact ram kit configuration and cpu memory controller quality

Trying to get my PC to about $4000 AUD worth.
So far can only get it to $3800. Anything else I should throw in there?

they just came out with 1440p models but no word for 4k

New machine doesn't post anymore after about two weeks of no issues.
I think I've swapped about every component by now including cmos battery.
I feel like the biggest retard. Can't be the new CPU that was running normal temps all week can it? because I have no second AM5 to test
>>106210644try 1.25v then
>>106210665anon, bad parts tend to die in the first few weeks so you got unlucky
it can be anything in your system like cpu, motherboard or psu
also, what do you mean by doesn't post anymore?
>>106210641It's baked into Windows and it's vendor agnostic, its up to the app to support it. Chrome supports it for example but your game obviously won't.
>>106210731under no configuration does it reach bios anymore. After power on all fans spin, it does ram training like it should, and then the boot LED goes on and stays on. As far I can tell nothing happens from there

because I can see my old 2600x bottleneck gpu in some games that were release around the same time
It even struggle with TF2 because it so heavily relies on single core performance

Thinking about buying a moba on Ebay. How to ensure it is new?
And if it is used, can I at least squeeze 5 more years out of it?

>>106211451>Thinking about buying a moba on Ebay. How to ensure it is new?Use the "new" product filter, buy the board from a seller with good reputation that posts real product images.
>And if it is used, can I at least squeeze 5 more years out of it?Check real product images showing the condition of the board, especially the CPU socket.
Don't buy used boards that are missing the socket pin cover.
As long as the board doesn't have missing components or damaged pins, you can usually use it for longer than 5 years.
>>106210665If you tried booting with a single memory module in A2 (testing both sticks) I think you're fucked.
You are not retarded btw, seems like you've troubleshooted the issue just fine.
Did you update that board BIOS to the latest version? (minimum 3.25).
If you installed that CPU while the board was in an older version, the CPU's most likely cooked.
Hope you didn't buy a tray 7500F.
>>106211669I mean you chose that board. You paid for those slots.
You can use it for a wifi card if you don't have onboard wifi.
Adapter cards if you are in dire need of more nvme or pcei?

No idea. Bit useless if you ask me

flashing new bios as we speak. But it's a new board I think the version was fairly recent. Also I ran the auto update thing if I remember correctly.
>Hope you didn't buy a tray 7500Fthat's exactly what I bought. Most bang for your buck amite :)
>>106211669no such mobos for am5, they might be physically x16, but electrically they will probably have x2 or x4 lanes
>>106211779>that's exactly what I bought. Most bang for your buck amiteIt's meant for OEMs; AMD won't send you a replacement 7500F if that CPU is cooked.
GL.
If you can enter the BIOS afterwards, set manual TDC & EDC limits.
And track the SOC voltage, degraded ones will need more than 1.25V to run the basic 6000MT/s CL30 EXPO setting.

youre better off saving your cash until you can afford actually good parts than desperately putting together a machine of mid-low range parts that are already out dated to boot. just save up
>>106211350Probably, but I had one that, due to clearance issues, never fully latched. It lasted for years like that. Maybe try some air duster in the slot if it fails again to see if some garbage got stuck in there.
>>106211705>Use the "new" product filterShit advice, you should feel bad.
It's ebay, if they try to give you a board with issues in the end you'll get your money back, probably get to keep the board too.
The "no returns" disclaimer is worth nothing, you can ignore it like the signs in parking lots.
>>106212237You're the one suggesting that the guy waste his time combing through unfiltered product search results.
It's not worth dealing with retard sellers who can't properly label the condition of the product they're offering.
>>106211894I could. It's not like I don't have the money.
Just choose not to cause I want to get the most use of my current CPU before moving over (likely around AM6-7). And when I say most use I mean I can tell it is dying.
>>106212043I did take a look in the slot and there was a small piece of white something. Took a TolthPick to it and cleared that out. It was maybe the size of a pinhead. Maybe that had something to do with it..
