Why would anyone want a slow OS? Are you retarded? You can improve and optimize your existing features without restructuring the whole UI and adding useless popular slop.
Also Win7 was faster in general than Win11. Win11 is full of bloat and unoptimized exponential-time algorithms.

Reminder that Firefox doesn't fix bugs on the mobile version, and they block about:config on mobile to appease Google's management.

Firefox is just Google's plausible deniability shield, and Firefox has more advertising built in than Chrome. real browser devs now work on Ladybird and Servo.

Security features and updates existed 20 years ago. Also, we're talking about the structure and design of products, which is different from the quality of the product itself. As in, superior hardware that can run software quicker does not necessitate interface changes to software.
There's a difference between, let's say, buying an improved keyboard with better ergonomics and build quality vs buying a keyboard with a different layout.
Some people think that using Qwerty instead of Dvorak, Colemak, and Workman is also stagnation. However if you think about it objectively, you'd have to waste around a year to learn how to use the new layout it optimally, for the sake of typing 5% faster.
Also, AI increases your productivity as much as it decreases it. We don't need AI inside the web browser, the same way we didn't need profile pictures to be round everywhere. We also didn't need youtube's player to look a bit different every couple of years.
This isn't market stagnation, it's just engineer's dilemma.

ironically there's already stagnation, we're trapped in an endless circle of just updoooting without any real gain from it.
>you would not like it today if your OS took several minutes to boot up
Again, ironically modern OS are magnitudes slower than older ones. It's the hardware that has been getting better. But tell me, what does it matter if our hardware is so much better than a decade ago if the OS boots at barely the same speed? We haven't gained anything practical. We've sold just smoke and lies.

Its a local on browser thing that's FOSS, I don't see any problem. You want to disable it ? You can do so. If its buggy or some shit because its new, let them fix it. I would't sperg out about AI - this is one of the few times that Mozilla could probably use their browser to get people invested and aware that
>AI can, and should, be FOSS and local
rather than a proprietary SaaS shitbag with proprietary training data, where major corpos scrape the entire Internet and pirate everything, but then turn around and join the whiner social media "artists" and screech about piracy or scraping or whatever else, when other FOSS projects that could compete with them do the same thing. If Mozilla starts focusing that AI needs to be FOSS, open weights/training data, and locally hosted that will be a move in the right direction.

This is the crux of it. LibreWolf or IceCat or whatever the fuck else are fine, but the vast majority of the engine and overall browser development is by Mozilla and right now, if they can't keep going or fall behind in features, usability, compatibility none of these forks are going to be able to pick up the slack. Most of the forks are basically prefab configuring shit and some of them not that well - I remember the time that running LibreWolf made you easier to fingerprint and less secure because it was like you were trying to be a "spy" under the radar while walking around dressed like you were in The Matrix, carrying multiple firearms and bladed weapons, and a briefcase marked TOP SECRET ENCRYPTED SPY STUFF FEDS KEEP OUT. Firefox, be it the standard release version , ESR or one of the others, is fine - you can configure it how you wish at whatever degree of autism, and suggesting that its necessary to use some fork to have a viable browser is going to undermine the support Firefox needs and the userbase that allows for such forks to be generated in the first place

Is this the reason for the bug that happens when you click some text input on some website, the tab freezes and then literally jumps out into a separate window. I'm not joking. The tab transforms into a separate window. So I have to put it back into the main window. Shit is so annoying. On the previous version tabs would freeze completely along with the address bar so I had to reorder one of the tabs to fix this (thank god I found this workaround). Fucking firefox, man.

This is a much more fundamental problem with the direction Firefox is going and "just disable it" doesn't address it.
We may expect more of this bullshit in the future, and as most users do not change their settings - much less things on about:config - this will flag to Mozilla that users like it.
And as pointed elsewhere, this will go downstream to the forks that are maintained by a very small number of people who might not be able to keep up with disabling every single retardation that Mozilla adds.

We simply do not have a decent open source software that is well maintained, simple as.

Firefox is trying to hide shit from users I assume they're going the Ubuntu routes and assuming their user base is retarded so they can shove whatever they want down their throats all while lagging behind in basic features
