I just got a service restriction email from Google stating that my account access has been disabled from nearly all Google services. I'm confused because it says it's for child safety. Now, I'm a degenerate, but I'm not a nickelodeon executive or politician. So all the girls on my Google drive are over the age of consent in any country. I did, however, recently start auto syncing my phone folders to Google. It is well over 100k images, I'm sure. In there, there's plenty of art of cute and funny anime girls from this very site and even from /here/. Reading their terms, they explicitly ban cartoons. They ban even sfw cartoons that could lead to the abuse of kids. They explicity state that they ban memes. They have an appeals process... however, I'm not allowed to know what file was removed. I can't see it fair enough. But I can't even know the name, when it was uploaded or anything. The vast majority of the pictures on the drive were also in Google photos for nearly half a decade with no issues. While I understand the need to monitor what otherwise should be private files, this seems to be invasive all under the guise of once again saving kids. I'm guilty of a general non crime to their own admission. And I can appeal, but I get no information to do so and if i continue i will be banned. If i appeal and lose i also be permanently banned. This was also tied to my youtube channel with a half a million subscribers. So now that's a concern. When did we allow it to get this bad?

I'm hosting my own local storage pool. With a bunch of md1200i. But I was using Google Drive as an intermediary while I set it up and worked out some posting issues. But again, all this same stuff I've done forever. Idk if it's a new file or an old one or what. Everything has only came from here and gelbooru or danbooru and other boorus.

Step 1: disable cloud sync
Step 2: if you want backups, use a separate application that creates an encrypted blob and upload that instead
Step 3: if you are in the EU, report Google to your local authority appointed to enforce the Digital Services Act. They are in violation of article 17. They MUST provide you with a complete statement of reason as well as precisely which terms of service you have violated. They cannot link you to blanket documents and tell you to figure it out for yourself. (Art 17.3e) Moreover, any evidence they have to the matter must be complete enough for you to be able to exercise your legal possibilities for redress (Art 17.4) - which includes the option of judicial redress. (Art 17.3f) I.e. it has to be complete enough to actually be able to build a court case on it, meaning they literally cannot refuse to tell you what the actual offending file was.

It wouldn't help your personal case - but honestly nothing will.
The important part is for these complaints to start piling up, so that authorities start taking notice. THEY do have the power to bitchslap Google into complying - eventually.

Yo you know, if their goal wasn't child safety and was in fact rather invasive data collection surveillance and spying, why would they be banning people from using their service? They would want you to keep using it and keep uploading private pictures to it to spy on your life and collect data from you.
