Tell us why you think programming is not an engineering problem.

What is the causality between "looking upon programmers as scammers" and "being indian", pray tell?

>Hire IBM's software "engineer" to code a ticketing software for our company.
They only delivered less than half the promised feature.
It's laggy.
It's counterintuitive.
It cost two fortune.
It's a failure.
(the bastards even have the gall to ask for more money to fix their mess)

>Hire a few software engineer to code a ticketing software for our company, in intern.
He only delivers less than half the promised feature.
It's laggy.
It's counterintuitive.
It "only" cost one fortune.
It's still a failure.

>They finally cave in and let us (the IT guys, close to zero experience in programming) code do it our way.
We don't overpromise to begin with.
It's fast.
It's intuitive.
It just works.

Quantuum computing has been solved already. But, it'll not allowed to hit the open market, until the NSA and the rest of US intelligence are done milking it.
The same way transistors were kept secret at first.

It probably won't stop retarded grifter to pretend they need money to find a solution, still...

because engineering has a physical component to it

Engineering partially means that there is a standard that everyone must follow, which is absolutely absent in programming, it's like calling an artist an engineer. We should be called programmers only, none of this retarded mangling of definitions. YOU ARE NOT AN ENGINEER.

It's what they do throughout their entire industry. They start ripping off random words from other hard sciences and using random Greek letters to describe things vaguely similar to their use in mathematics and dynamics. It's embarrassing. Majority of professional programmers would probably get decimated by a physics curriculum at a decent university, but they REALLY want you to believe otherwise.

Engineers should only pertain to individual, designing, building or repairing engines.

Sofwarineers, programineer, codineer are more appropriate

My favourite will always be script kitty though

how did this happen if there is no physical component to programming?
