Anyone here have any experience using the Vace Spline Control stuff in ComfyUI? I got a fairly simple workflow and got every node set up but my setup always fails at the WanVaceToVideo node with the error NoneType is not Iterable. My programming experience tells me there's some kind of data type mismatch but I'm not sure how to fix that, or why it would even happen given that this is a workflow I got from someone who had it working.

I don't know how SDXL works or if it has some max intelligence or storage capacity, but there are 2 things checkpoint makers should add and improve urgently.

I find it hilarious that any model has the intelligence and capability to generate any NSFW scene or position but when I put in tags like "character cooking, holding a frying pan" that's when the real problems start. Character grabs the pan but with a 10 finger hand, or SDXL adds an extra arm to the existing 2 just to hold the pan, or if the character is a girl her arm turns into a man's arm. Pretty funny honestly.

Anyway I think these checkpoints are way too overbalanced toward '1girl, goon' model stuff but idk if that's checkpoint makers being lazy or SDXL having some max learning capacity.

I usually go with realistic or normal lineart but it depends on the composition. You can check the lineart preview in the controlnet tab btw.I said controlnet weight 0.4 because I assume you want another character doing the same pose as the original. Make sure to enable pixel perfect and match the resolution between your target and example images.Been getting better results and line adherence with canny using 50 for upper value and 100 for lower value.

Honestly I feel like it suffers on quite a few styles and artists, especially any traditional media artist. 1.5 brings in traditional media but then also falls apart in other ways and you might be better off just grabbing manticore itself.
Although as one of those artist tag autists I just abuse prompt control when I can't get what I want so models stop mattering at that point.
Actually it gets kind of fun to collect artists I normally wouldn't use just to steer the style direction of another artist to look more correct.

First time trying video. Are there no anime-specific base models for video creation? All anime videos I find on Civit to use as a test template use Wan2.2 and have this "real people" feel to them. It doesn't feel like a "contamination" from 3D, CG, MMD, Rotoscope, or other anime-adjacent style, but rather the movement is inherently based on real people.

Maybe add custom text boxes with custom titles where you can drag and reorder positive/negative prompts. Like a Lora stack but for prompt organization. Would be useful for separating quality tags, character stuff, actions, scenario, lighting/composition etc. Makes prompt editing way cleaner and easier to read.Check out Silly Tavern's prompt manager, that UI is actually really good inspiration. It's for text gen but the ideas translate well. The prompt manager feature is peak design.

Like in hires fix or img2img you could set multiple denoise levels per generation.

Example workflow: First I select via bbox what context I want the AI to consider. Then I use magic wand to select hands and apply 0.5 denoise, select background and put 0.3 denoise, then select hair with 0.9 denoise.
Basically selective denoising per region instead of global denoise strength.

I don't use the AI like it's a mind reader. I never have a 100% finished image in my head.
It's more like a back and forth. I have a vague concept for example "Today I want to generate some Marnies doing something cute", the AI spits something out, I riff on that, then it riffs on my changes. You build the final image layer by layer. It's a dialogue, not a command.

How do you guys regional prompt with Loras? Used the A8R8 workflow from the rentry guide but my loras' influence seems to be muted after the attention coupling and ended up not getting applied. Is it post-processing or second pass? Controlnet?

That 500 word count was just me spitballing, idk if it's too much or not. Shorter lore is probably better anyway, keeps it dynamic.

The most important thing is that the reader gets the character's feel.

Also, for the anons genning non OC characters, maybe they could write some creative text to flesh out another side of their character a bit more, or the gen's scene could tell a micro story with them in it.

We dont need Qwen or whatever new meme model. What we actually need is someone to fix SDXL properly. Keep the same arch but make it actually smart. There was some meme about putting (hands:1.25) in the negative. Honestly don't know if it matters but it's been my placebo.

In the worst case I slap an inpainting circle on the hand and spam random seed inpaints on it with the original prompt and denoising at 1. Adetailer works sometimes but doesn't feel worth bothering with because of all the times it doesn't.
