I need to use my phone to log in to Google and MS accounts.
It might be flagging me because I'm on Linux. And also since emails get leaked all the time, accounts get hammered by bots all day and night trying passowrds. So I have to deal with the annoyance of not even being able to log in with the CORRECT password with my MS Live account because it often gets soft locked.
And with my Google account...I shit you not I got locked out and forced to 'recover' the account after I manually fucked up my password twice.
MS makes you 'choose the right number' that shows up on your email account from the phone. Or try some 'passwordless' login with the phone(I don't do that, I just want my secure passwords ffs).

Picrel is my phone running kernel 6.14, you can run pretty much 99.9% of any standard Linux software on it, graphical GTK/Qt apps etc.
If anything doesn't work, it's either because it relies on glibc'isms (pmOS uses musl) or because it's closed source and doesn't provide an arm64 binary.
You can use it as any other Linux device, you have root access, you can start an SSH daemon, you can use Docker, use cron, mount a NAS through NFS, backup your entire phone with rsync etc.

Beging able to browse the internet, make phone calls and send SMS messages is all society needs. Everything past that point was a massive downgrade for privacy, attention span and many other things.

Plus, most Apps just have functionality that could totally work 100% in a browser, where people have more privacy options (plugins, addons, etc). They just don't want that because they can gain more userdata from having a bespoke app. That's the only reason.
