First I laughed about "Linux is better at everything including gaming" but now that I proved that to be true on my PC, I will never use Windows or macOS again. Switched from Brave to Librewolf and now even ads are actually blocked, no spying or tracking and using PC is really nice again finally.

It can’t play doom without some 3rd party support that Valve controls and you have no way to fix it if they ever decide to discontinue it or have it replaced into a pay subscription service.

The Switch 2 does have better hardware (and a few other handhelds do as well).
The issue is, on Switch 2 you're at full mercy of the developers optimizing the game for the platform. There used to be this mentality of "if it's on consoles it will be faster on shittier hardware because they optimize it a lot since it's just one set of specs and not a billion like on PC". But in the case of the Switch, many, many ports ran poorly on it. So it's understood that the same problem will happen on the Switch 2.
The deck will "outperform" it by virtue of being able not just to tweak games but use software such as lossless scaling, and by having an open source kernel and operating system that can and did get better over years. A deck performs better with some titles today than it did a year ago, and the fact is that, unless a developer explicitly pushes out a performance uplift update on a single title, on a console like the Switch 2, the game will perform by 2029 the way it performs today. So if it's sluggish, it'll remain sluggish. A modded Switch 1 had access to a bit of an overclock here and there, but it didn't work with every title and sometimes the performance uplifts were minuscule. For instance, you cannot overclock a soft modded switch 1 (otherwise, you'd need a modchip) to get the latest zelda to maintain a consistent 60fps. It is not happening ever on that hardware.
Another thing is, 10 years from now the switch 2 you'll have a couple of people maybe fiddle with homebrew for it and no accessible store. This so ancient deck will probably still be supported because after all, it's just a PC. I can take a 2015 laptop and install any current distro on it with steam no problem.
