Microsoft Windows 11 24H2 update may cause SSD failures; DRAMless SSDs are more vulnerable.
If you have a potentially vulnerable SSD, revert Windows update, disable automatic Windows update, & use Registry Editor to set 64 MB HMB allocation policy (or disable HMB).
https://www.neowin.net/news/report-microsofts-latest-windows-11-24h2-update-breaks-ssdshdds-may-corrupt-your-data/

RTX 50 Super: might launch in Q4 '25, 24GB VRAM for 5070 Ti & 5080 Super, 18GB for 5070 Super.

>Omissions
RTX 5070: buy if it's reasonably priced & if you plan to work around potential VRAM bottlenecks.
RX 9070 non-XT: worth considering if it's significantly cheaper than the 9070 XT.

Intel 13 & 14th gen i7/9 -K CPUs: BIOS update required due to reliability issues. Recommended to set a CPU VR voltage limit (1.4 or 1.45V).

Gigabyte RTX 50 & RX 9000 video cards: thermal gel has QC issues, Gigabyte claims only early production batches were affected.

No fan RPM displayed in that image; the warmer GPU generally has a milder fan curve, you can see this with the different 9070 XTs tested.
Not to mention that 9070 XT is running faster (imperceptibly faster) because the tester has increased the power limit beyond AIB's stock settings.

You probably haven't even physically seen a 5070 Ti to comment about coil whine.
GPUs that boost higher (9070/XTs) stresses the VRM harder, they will generate more coil whine (more current flowing through the VRM).

I don't know how they do it but it's insane how much less power Nvidia GPUs always need at the same performance level as amd. And they aren't brute forcing efficiency by using a massive die at low voltages either. They're using an 83% enabled 380mm2 die versus amd's full 360mm2 die and only uses like 65% of AMD's power at the same performance. It feels like power saving features are not even a consideration for AMD and they simply ship out their silicon as soon as it runs programs at full speed without crashing or artifacts.

The Curical kit is JEDEC
All XMP/EXPO kits are going to be inherently more unstable since they are overclocks from the original speeds out of the DRAM fab.
There is a reason the shit is limited to custom PCs and a handful of boutique builders willing to warranty it.

Chuck your "8000mhz" memory from your favorite DIMM vendor in a million PCs and you will still see massively higher rates of failure compared to 5600Mhz JEDEC.

sam is amd exclusive
rebar is nvidias fallback and sucks dick
with sam your cpu memory and gpu memory are perfectly in sync this gives a huge boost in latency but the downside is if your ram or gpu is unstable you will quickly notice those "driver timeouts" and crashes.

It's because GeForce GPUs don't need to rely on that optional PCIe feature as much as Radeon or Arc chips.
A 5070 has more L1 and L2 cache than a 9070 XT (L0, L2). Different GPUs have different performance bottlenecks.
RDNA is rumored to increase the on-die L2 cache capacity; we'll see how SAM scales with those GPUs.

Customer service from almost every single company involved in PCs ranges from the absolute bare minimum to outright malicious.
If you don't have a hobby outside of PCs, it's actually hard to give a perspective on how horrible the industry is. They only got away with it so long because everything was so cheap. You wouldn't RMA a $20 mouse, or a $100 mobo, or even a $200 GPU that's already outdated.

Anything labeled as an Intel X540 or Intel X550 are based on really old chipsets, they work fine if your wiring is up to snuff but do use some power and run hot so they need dedicated airflow.

Aquantia based 10G NICs are lower power and the most friendly option if your "NAS" is windows or Linux based. They are often what's included on motherboards if your motherboard had 10G built in and is the chip used on most 10G NICs from more known brands like Asus, TP-Link, Trendnet, etc

As far as random amazon brands, it's hard to say, they should all work but check reviews.

People don't think it's too bright because on a bright white image ot doesn't look to be, but that's because the ABL is kicking in.
Take any OLED on it's defaults and display a white on black webpage like Twitter and the brightness of all the text and other elements are equivalent to a 500-600 nit LCD displaying the same image.

I am still on my AM4 build I built years ago. I recently upgraded with a RX 6700XT I got used on sale on ebay refurbished from my RX 580 that I upgraded from recently and I'm still using the 5600X with 16gb of ram I had originally.

My 1080p pixio monitor I already had and my thermal take power supply I already had. All total included it only cost around $520, but if we are only counting the recent upgrades, $230. When I first built the PC I got a bundle deal on my ddr4 ram and case on new egg.

It plays literally all the games including battlefront 2 2017 at 200fps at high settings. Until there's some modern slop I want to play then I'll just upgrade to a 5800X3D but I don't think I'll ever leave 1080p desu unless 1440p OLED becomes sub $150.

Half the things you mentioned aren't even specific to the chip but its cooler, bios, tuning, etc. Also, the stock 9070 XT is overtuned. I reduced the power limit and set a minor undervolt and achieved 97%-98% of the same performance for 30% less power. In fact, the 9070 (non-XT) is one of the most efficient GPUs of this gen if I recall correctly. FSR4 and DLSS4 depend on your preferences and implementation. Realistically, they're close enough that I doubt anyone could tell the difference in a real-world gaming scenario.

I could also be retarded and also be suffering from the same weird issue without knowing.
If it's LITERALLY every game I would be thinking about things like a dying drive or something, I've seen that happen before where a hard drive was nearly finished off and if I tried playing any game it was just non-stop stuttering.
9600x also kind of a shitty processor so maybe try framerate caps you can actually reach consistently, some games really hate it if you run the cpu close to max.

Whether gaymers but Nvidia GPUs or not is irrelevant. What's relevant is that their revenue from AI will drop after people realize that AI can't make back a hundredth of the money that went into it, and the bubble shifts to the latest new thing. Then they'll fall back to their old reliable bases.

Can't you do this in ue5 games just with editing a cfg? I know you can in sh2 (and gain like +20fps on RDNA1 and Vega)

It has it merits and it less ass after 5.4 but on older engines it was one of the main reason we got bad traversal stutters because of devs not understanding how use Lods properly, it's less bad on AMD hardware because they got specific optimization that is made so the ps5 dont shit the bed, Tim promised that 5.6 is finally when nanite will not fucking be a problem but in this case is mostly down to nvidia not paying them enough to optimize it

I would pay the $40 extra for the 5070 Ti Gaming Trio OC or look for one of the base MSRP 5070 Ti cards (Gigabyte Windforce SFF, ASUS Prime, PNY).
I'm almost certain the MSI Inspire card is basically a nicer looking Ventus with loud fans & the strictest power limit.
