Why are so many Discord users suddenly getting hacked and having their accounts start sending Mr. Beast spam as of late completely independently of each other?

The blanket explanation used right now is that either they clicked a token stealer from a fake invite link or something on Discord, or that they pirated software. But that seems like a copout considering how they all end up having the same symptom of having Mr Beast mass mailing routines on something like Discord with nothing else being seemingly affected.

The app itself is malware. Or at least acts as a vector for malware. All my friends who downloaded it got hacked. I stick to the browser and I've never had this problem. Why the fuck would you run something on your PC that is able to see what you're doing an broadcasts it to other retards?

I know someone who had been on vacation for weeks and hadn't been on his account for a long time and only ever used the browser version, and he was still compromised. Curiously, his other account was unscathed.
