how do you feel about Adobe's adoption of a subscription model?

Ngl, some of the always online AI stuff actually looks decent. It hurts to say, but it's true. I'd still rather just pirate though because last I checked their pricing model is abominable.

That's right, Gimp is free and beats Photoshop, Illustrator and inDesign easily. If I need to do layouts I'll use LaTeX.

CS6 is still good enough for me, so it doesn't mean much.

What do you mean
Adobe introduced subscriptions in 2011. That was 14 years ago. Most people on this site aren't even old enough to remember.
While you're at it, you could also ask how we feel about ICQ, AIM or MySpace.

Used it for years now, I switched to tablet editing for Lightroom with cloud sync/storage of raw photos

I don't care what their model is because i have never paid for their software.

Come on you could've just said that gimp beats photoshop and the bait would've been believable, but you had to throw illustrator in there as well.

Nothing. I don't use any of their products. I use Gimp, Krita, Blender, and one of the many PDF readers (evince is good enough). Flash is dead.

having to shelf over what $1-2k for one version of the software can be steep. so a subscription model can be a good thing.

my main gripe with adobe is it takes over your entire system with tons of background processes.
