The whole point of a PIP is to either get an employee to resign on their own, or to manufacture additional reasoning to put on the paperwork when they fire you. Firing you was a foregone conclusion from the start, the PIP just helps them out with it legally.

It's like a field sobriety test. If you're asked to take one, it means that the cop has already decided to arrest you, and just wants some additional manufactured "evidence" to cover his ass first.

i'm a senior engineer but i'm the de-facto tech lead for this team. the team's manager is non-technical and relies on whatever estimates i give him and there's pressure from his boss and other teams to get shit done fast.

aside from both of us, the rest of the team is juniors who can't code or test for shit who have no business working in tech at all IMO. They confidently open PRs with bullshit that's obviously untested and would totally break stuff in prod, and i have to babysit them while also hitting tight deadlines, so i end up having to pick up their slack as well as all the feature work i have to complete.

I didn't work my whole shift a couple of weeks ago so I had to work 2 hours today.
I woke up, did some exercise, then turned on my laptop, set up the hardware based mouse jiggler and read for a bit, then have breakfast. After that I cleaned my room and read a bit more.
Out of the 2h the amount of work I did was 0.
I have no regrets of this. My boss is a greedy guy that only raised my salary when I got offers from another companies and always takes external consultants opinion over mine even after being proved as midwits.
I don't think my job is properly appreciated so I started slacking off. I have no intention of leaving though, I'm just going to do next to nothing while I keep cashing my paycheck.

Almost close to the migration of the test environment and I need to rename the Netbiosname of one domain because they share the same one.
