Here's my take: if you publicly promote CP you should be punnished in some way. "Advocating" for it to be legal included. Some pedos would be satisfied with the robot and decide not to abuse a child when they otherwise would have.
Others would consider the robot a tantalising preview of the real thing and decide to abuse when they otherwise wouldn't have.

I don't know how big each group would be, but I do know that society in general has a very strong aversion to introducing a new danger even if the total amount of danger in society is reduced as a result. So even if the first group turned out to be much larger, the idea of the second group existing at all virtually guarantees that no such robots will be made.
