On one of my roadtrips I was driving across South Dakota on some two way highways. Didn't feel like using interstate. Basically nobody was on the road with me for 95% of it outside of any of the small towns you hit. At one point I saw a UFO clear as day to my left and it was moving right along with me watching me or something. I just keep driving. I have waterproof boots. This shit doesn't even phase me. The only time i had issue with wet feet is when I arrived at a flooded junction that I had to cross to get to the other side of where i needed to go. The river next to it overflowed, turned the entire junction into basically a swamp. All the way down to my knees in some spots. I wouldn't do it again though looking back on it unless i bring a second pair of shoes and socks.

Anyway small mud puddles, snow, streams? absolutely. Snow patches though can be deceiving so i'd probably always probe it before you step and realize it sinks in down to your knees, but that's a minor annoyance. Nothing like water crossings.
