Why can't you just use a normal distro and DE like a normal person, why do we keep recommending this shit to newbs that don't know anything?
They seem like fashion trends, years ago it was manjaro and Pop!_OS, suckless software, etc
Now it's this "immutable" "gayming" shit, just give newbs a proper starter distro, not whatever this gay shit is.
Linux will never be popular on the desktop if we keep doing everything in our power to turn people away. I don't suggest Fedora KDE for neophytes (it's what I use) because most people have Nvidia gpus and it's a bit more complicated to install on Fedora.

Also you need to install two RPMfusion repos through the terminal. Then I install the ffmpeg codec pack.

Then you need to edit dnf.conf.

That's why I still suggest new people should use Ubuntu, it's more plug and play. Even if it has snapd, point is when they understand linux a bit more they can distrohop.

Bazzite runs without issues on desktops and laptops. Its the best distro ive ever used I have access to packages from every distro ever while my base system is impossible to tamper with or to crash whether due to me a faulty update or outside access. Obviously /g/ will be too late to the party.

Immutable distros are for everyone. They are the easiest to install and maintain (and impossible to break regardless how stupid the user) yet at the same time Silverblue distros (like Bazzite) give you access to any other distros packages.

Hyprland is unusable for any normie, it's all cli-based until you build it to be usable with a mouse.
Cachy is optimised to launch programs faster but it's not that impressive. Plus the DEs are quite crap.
It's good that there's hype and enthusiasm but it will take time to generate enough interest that linux distros will become more polished.
