i don't even see the value of llms as a search engine replacement outside of the most general "what is an elephant" type questions. i already have to verify that whatever i pull from search engine results is reliable, having to verify that the llm is accurately summarizing its source and then still having to verify the source itself is just more work for me.

ive got pretty good results when using llms as cross referencing machines. also i like the human interface which allows me to just explain what im looking for, instead of doing my searches the old fashioned way
but i would never trust em to generate code. they suck at it. an llm is not designed for that kind of workload, so obviously its gonna give shit results
and, yeah. one has to verify results, when its not something pulled straight from a manual
