Don't write shit off immediately. Even if it doesn't seem like AI is a good fit, tell them you'll take some time to research the usecase, and come back with a report of why it's not a good fit. Long story short, I work in Salesforce support. Our flowmaster (we use Agile) recently left unexpectedly, and my manager “volunteered” me to take over. The role basically means being a team lead I.e. running meetings, coordinating with other teams, handling escalations, and still doing my normal support workload.

The problem is, I hate it. I’ve done a leadership role before at another company, and it completely burned me out. I joined my current job specifically to avoid that kind of stress and just focus on my own work. Now, two weeks in, I’m back in the same position, more responsibility, more stress, and more blame when things go wrong. If a teammate underperforms, I’m the one expected to step in, oversee their work, and take responsibility for it. It’s exhausting.

The pay raise isn’t worth it. I really just want to go back to being a regular support agent. How can I tell my manager this in a respectful, professional way without seeming ungrateful or damaging my standing in the team? I'm so fucking stressed. Got nobody whom I can talk about this with.

How do I step down without burning bridges? I really don't want to leave this company.

It's hard to compare, mostly it's a lot more egalitarian here. A lot of jobs that pay very well here are low paying elsewhere and vice-versa (e.g. a tradesman would earn much more than a white collar professional). STEM except for tech or quants pay less than median. We have an anti-intellectual society and it's represented to some extent in funding.
Median worker is ~72k, median fulltime is ~90k, average fulltime is ~103k. Probably add another 5k or so for Sydney.

My friend got laid off from his .net job after 8 years a while ago and he says he keeps getting rejected because he never built up any experience with Azure and Kubernetes at his last job. At my side-job-to-the-side-job I'm literally in the military, when I left the active fleet I was slotted on "Force Protection" every goddamn time, when we have range days I consistently make Top Shot (when they measure grouping; otherwise I just get a perfect score) and even in the boring stuff at the time of my leaving I held literally every IT related secondary duty but one, and only didn't hold that one because it would create a conflict of interest.

Well I'm bipolar so I'm worked up all the time. These pills make me calmer. Other pills I take for my bipolarity are: Lithium, Sodium Valprate, Respridone and my doctor has prescribed me this new pill that I'm not sure what it does, but it's made me calmer and productive.

If you want to have energy, take Ritalin or Vyvanse. The latter is an Amphetamine, and one of the best Amphetamines there is. I don't know why people would take Aderal, when Vyvanse is right here.

I'm going to scrape all the social media, and build a graph of every soldier's life, family, acquaintances, etc. So when I'm interrogating a POW, I could just show them AI-generated photos of their loved ones, and just be nonchalant and say "Lil Suzy likes to play at the old quarry, right?".
