Because Microsoft is floundering and has been for a long time. They're just throwing things at the wall to see if they stick, remember the VR glasses interface, 3D paint and all of the other "next big thing" gimmicks before Copilot?

No one?? Like even my grandma speaks into her phone, doing everything via chrome + google AI summary. Microsoft just needs to sneak it into everything, just like google replaced the search with an ai summary and "hey google" got replaced with gemini and soon siri... copilot file explorer, search, hey copilot... this is just the beginning. been using Copilot a lot lately, both on Edge and on the Office suit, and it's quite good...
privacy problems aside, it really helps with summarizing stuff (including videos), rewriting stuff and even writing some basic stuff for me, doing excel formulas, etc.
I don't believe in all the "AI-is-the-absolutely-only-future" slop talk, but right now MS has been integrating it in a good way in my opinion
