Out of all the vulnerabilities Linux has, systemd should be the last of your worries. Install a real distro like Fedora or even better, Secureblue (hardened Fedora), which actually tries to minimize some of the risks of using Linux.

Debian is my personal go-to because I don’t like context switching between different server and desktop OS’s, it isn’t downstream of/dependent on another distro, and I don’t game or do anything that requires cutting edge hardware. I have yet to find another distro that fills the “just works forever on server and desktop” niche. Ubuntu is downstream of and reliant on Debian, RHEL and its clones are downstream of and reliant on Fedora, and Fedora server is too unstable for production usage.

Debian is woke, delays package updates, and has a poor package manager, and mostly forces free licensed packages
Fedora is the same thing as Debian but has less packages
Gentoo takes lots of time to install anything but it's okay
Guix only allows free packages and has an horrible scheme like language

How are these the only one you need? Zero Arch or NixOS which are all you need.

This is the complete opposite of my experience. Dolphin Is the only linux DE file browser that can handle high file counts. You must have used an older version where you had to increase the cache for it. Since KDE 6 it has been flawless out of the box.

Debian is the only linux OS you need. If you need more up to date software with the latest gayming drivers just use steam or heroic, installed with bazaar. Both use the latest mesa runtimes for flatpak which will give you the latest drivers for gayming.

Anything else is mental illness. APT is easily the most stable, best package manager and most robust stable library of software on linux.

Debian gets security updates. I've been using debian for years. Built a new PC and upgraded to debian 13. I've been running it for months, still only got 2 updates and they were security updates.

Arch bleeds and NixOS has complicated terminal commands. Debian is the only thing you need.
>but it's outdated!
Sid solves it, and flatpaks if you don't mind bloating the OS. Besides, I read in another thread that modern OSes and software packs are bound to work *slower* than outdated, so why do you need updates?
>but I hate systemd!
Devuan is systemd-free Debian.

Agreed. After using it on servers and both truenas and proxmox being based on debian, I'm also testing it laptops and desktops. Working so far. Only thing I've been missing were the aur / copr but have workarounds for those few now.

>fedora allows ai contributions now

1. AI-assisted code contributions can be used but the contributor must take responsibility for that contribution

2. it must be transparent in disclosing the use of AI such as with the "Assisted-by" tag

3. AI can help in assisting human reviewers/evaluation BUT MUST NOT BE the sole or final arbiter.

for low IQ NIG/g/ERS: Fedora BASED.

Writing rules and regulations how to use Ai and responsibility matrix == ai slop???

dumb niggers

Who not using ai today? Nix trannies?
Better to define rules than use ai without control.

this
Even their package policy is clear about NOT packaging closed sources, while Arch just says "package whatever you want and add a license to that package, whatever".
