Anyway, why would it? The core reason for immigration is a pillar nature/motivation aspect of capitalism: the everpresent downward pressure on worker wages/wealth for QoL. "Immigration" is the latest answer to this, in a world of first world worker intransigence. Immigrants work for less and are perceived as swappable with natural born laborers.

The reason for this drive to push down wages, hell or high water, is the capitalist accounting identity of "owner" or capitalist. And the nature of profit. A cheaper swapped worker means a fatter cut for the owner. They pocket the difference and gain, even if society as a whole does not benefit at all on the macro scale. Or vice versa the owner gets poorer as the worker gets a richer wage. So they have a motivation to constantly push.
