I'm not a fucking weeb, lol. I converted because I saw many coincidences, had spiritual experiences, etc. that lead me to believe that Shintoism is the true religion. I don't even like tr/a/nime.
>>17836355
Holy shit man... If someone as devoted as Simon Salva converted out of Christianity for Shinto then there must be something to it. I've cancelled my appointment for catechism at the local church and ordered some books on Shintoism instead.
>>17836295 (OP) >God exists
Which one? there are over 10,000 religions competing for last place in worthwhile pursuits
Unless you're an Omnist (Cringe) or a Deist (Based)
>>17837029
I'm like Aristotle and measure an argument's strength by it's ability to persuade people
1000 years later, and no one who didn't already believe in God are persuaded by this bullshit
>>17836355 >I saw many coincidences, had spiritual experiences
No, but seriously. Why you think this is evidence of Shintoism, rather than evidence of your brain being fucked up?
Did you experience something that couldn't be explained by mental illness?

God is not a moral agent. Treating God as though he were an absolute arbiter of good is what leads to the Epicurean paradox. This can simply be avoided if we concede to the fact that God is idiosyncratic in his actions and he does not always have humanities best interests in mind. Deism is more rational than Christianity.
>>17837179
If the only moral standards are the Abrahamic God then we're fucked because the Abrahamic God blesses those that beat infants against rocks and perform cannibalism
no one has an answer for why god allows evil that can reasonably play outside of our reality.
our good is permanently tied to bad.
to even hypothesize about decision-making on a plane absent of evil is impossible.
we don't even know what a world solely of good even means.
we can't understand why god didn't make a world without evil because we live in a world with evil.
it's just all about faith.

Regardless of what you sociopaths think, it also means most Abrahamics are going to Hell anyways for not following in their own Gods moral lessons to a T. If Christians followed their Bible as closesly as Muslims follow the Quran, they would be just as violent. Do you see Muslim radicals as arbiters of good morals anon?
>>17837189 >Regardless of what you sociopaths think, it also means most Abrahamics are going to Hell anyways for not following in their own Gods moral lessons to a T
You don't know the Bible. I can never go to Hell. Also, you're lying about the teachings of the Bible, so those flames just got MUCH hotter. Have fun burning. I can't wait to hear your screams.

When Atheists debate Christians, how come they actually have Bible verses to back up their grievances, but when Christians debate atheists, all they have are memes and strawmen?
>>17837245 >When Atheists debate Christians,
Nothing like that is happening now. It is just having its "I hate God" tumor flare up. >how come they actually have Bible verses to back up their grievances
They don't. >but when Christians debate atheists, all they have are memes and strawmen?
You're a liar. Please, lie some more. I want those flames to be roaring hot when they receive you. :D >>17837249
Keep going!
>>17837251 >It is just having its "I hate God" tumor flare up.
You cannot hate something that doesn't exist. Hating God is not Atheism, it's Misotheism
>>17837259
You know that the Hebrew word in this verse is more translated as "youths", right? The same word is used for king David when he was commading armies against the Philistines.
Also, you seem to not be paying attention to what is being described to you: we have Elisha, and old man, traveling alone through the wilderness on his own towards Bethel, when all of a sudden he's being heckled by a group of over 40 "youths", you realize what they were right? You realize that he was in more danger than you think, right?
>>17837294
It* doesn't care. >>17837279 >You know that the Hebrew word in this verse is more translated as "youths", right?
You don't speak Hebrew. The King James is God's perfect word.
It seems like Abrahamics don't have the integrity or the balls to call a spade a spade and call out their God for what he really is, a spiteful retard. This is why I at least respect Gnostics
>>17837269 >I'm perfectly willing to lie and bring railing accusations against Jesus and his followers. >Now debate me in good faith, Christian.
It's so transparent. Enjoy Hell.
>>17837313 >What if those 40 "children" are about to kill an old man?
Well, going by that verse it seems like the worst they did was call a man bald, if they were plotting to kill him, wouldn't the Bible be more explicit?
>>17837321 >Well, going by that verse it seems like the worst they did was call a man bald
And you don't think that a group of again, 40 YOUTHS, not not just a couple of them, but what is basically a gang, heckling him while he was traveling ALONE on the wilderness were up to more than just calling him bald? The fact that God sends 2 bears to kill them all says to me that they were planning more than just making fun of him for his baldness.
>>17837322
Cool! Have fun burning. >>17837324 >What's the problem with the guy on the right not being retarded?
The problem is that he is slightly above average IQ, and so he has a complex about how his intellect is perceived. This leads him into error and perdition as he rejects the simple truth of KJV onlyism. >And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
Ecclesiastes 12:12
>>17837331 >And you don't think that a group of again, 40 YOUTHS, not not just a couple of them, but what is basically a gang, heckling him while he was traveling ALONE on the wilderness were up to more than just calling him bald?
I think you prefer your own imagination to what the King James actually teaches. Good luck with that.
>>17837303
The only problems with this are:
1. God allowed Himself to face suffering
Which surely shows He isn't spiteful, at least to our cries of pain.
2. God limits our understanding
Which shows he isn't necessarily retarded. He just doesn't allow us to comprehend everything.
Seeing God as evil, spiteful, or retarded can only come about depending on how highly you view yourself and your understanding.
>>17837331
When the KJV, the NIV, the NASB, and the NRSV all agree that it's talking about children here, "small boys" as the NRSV, I think you just need to accept that that's probably what it means unless you have a strong argument to the contrary aside from "it has to be x way because otherwise God would be immoral." God outright commands murdering infants in 1 Samuel 15:3, he destroys almost all life with a flood himself in Genesis, and he set up the situation that led to death being a thing everyone has to go through in the first place, so it isn't like we have much reason to expect that this character would be beyond sending bears to kill some children.
>>17837376 >When the KJV, the NIV, the NASB, and the NRSV
You know we can just go to the original Hebrew and check, right? Why are you making an appeal to authority?
>>17837393
What's your idea of going to the original Hebrew that doesn't involve some level of trusting others to tell you what the words mean? Do you have a past life memory as Hebrew-speaking Jew 2500 years ago that allows you to directly intuit from the Hebrew text what the author meant without any mediation?
>>17837128
I know you're a schizo and there's literally no point in arguing with you, but let's take a look at your reasoning: >Deism has no morality >Therefore Deism is equivalent to atheism
This is the biggest jump in logic I have ever seen. Let's just assume for a second that deism has no morality. Nearly every argument against atheism (transcendency bullshit, consciousness, matter from non-matter, etc.) is solved by introducing a God into the mix. If atheism is proven false by any of those methods (which i don't even believe is true), then deism is, by definition, not weak to those same arguments. In fact, you don't even need to go that far. Atheism is not believing in God, Deism is believing in God. They are two seperate, opposite beliefs.
>>17837463 >you realize of course King James was a homosexual
Those flames just got hotter. >and his copy of the Bible is based on queen elizabeth’s Bishop Bible
Yep. I have access to wikipedia too. The Bishop's Bible was the rough draft. The King James is the finished product. >LMFAO
Your opinion, on all topics, is completely worthless. :)
>>17837471
the KJV is accepted by biblical scholars to be one of the worst translations of study bibles
the only worse option is the “The Message” bible
>>17837570 >>the bible that is the closest to the original hebrew/greek/aramaic
It's actually based on the Textus Receptus and the Masoretic Text that was compiled in the 10th century, newer Bible translations such as the ESV and the NRSVUe are actually based on more recently rediscovered original texts such as the Dead Sea Scrolls, which actually contain differences from the Masoretic Text

nigger thinks God anoints people to convert websites instead of nations
he's a fucking cancer on this site, does anyone not agree?
Sometimes I wonder if Christians comprehend how fucking retarded they sound and how bad they make the religion look. Then I remember that the core tenant tenant of their faith is faith and faith is self delusion. Believing in something you have no evidence for. Their whole religion is based on lying to themselves till they believe it. They are incapable of self reflection in any form.
