How does it feel to belong to a race whose only high in history is starving to death because they were too retarded to fish?

The answer to your question is in picrel or the linked thread from over a year ago.

The Irish did fish, but the fisheries were not equipped to feed the sheer volume of people impacted by the blight. This is very basic stuff.

The Irish saved civilization by preserving writings through the Dark Ages.

Fishing non-stop would have been worse, you need to let baby fishes grow

Why don't the fish just eat the Irish?

Not really. Most of that comes from an okayish book with a melodramatic title.

Here's a thread on that, too.

They did fish. Issue was that you couldn't sell the fish for currency when no one else had money, ports and easy to access coasts weren't common and the trees used to create fishing vessels faced additional pressure due to being used fkr other purposes.

Also through out the colonial era the whole "we are starving while shipping a ton of crops for exports" was unfortunately super common in the colonial years. The Irish were the first of many subjected the phenomenon.
