Partition has usually been a successful solution though. We still use it to solve conflicts.

The problem here is that it looks like a jigsaw, and that the jews were given the best land despite only owning 10% of the land and being 30% of the population.

Jews never had any intention of two states existing side by side. Nor should the Palestinians have accepted giving over half the land to 30% of the population.

The thing is settlers pretty much can always swing the government to their side, more so if they have several powerful statea backing them. Population size doesnt matter if the state de facto or de jure counts you as less than one vote (or not at all). Look at the shitshow that was German South-West Africa to see that in action.

But the issue is that it is impossible to draw a line on a map (or even a very complicated and squiggly line like the one the UN actually made) that will make both the Palestinian and Jewish communities satisfied

Neither side was willing to accept it (Israeli acceptance was solely tactical, they ethnically cleansed lands in the portion allotted to Palestine) and the boundaries weren't nearly coherent/defensible enough to survive in the event of war

It didn't work because one side was given a state and the other wasn't. The partition was just europe guilt-tripping after the holocaust and giving away land they didn't own to people who weren't from there.

Could it be done today? No. You can't just draw lines on a map and expect people who've been fighting for 80 years to suddenly hold hands and sing kumbaya.

It didn't work, because the partition didn't include the East of the Jordan river in Palestinian territorial calculations. Partition would have been more palatable if Jordan and Palestine were seen as one singular Palestinian entity, with a Bedouin and Jewish minority.

OR the Israelis would appear to be blatant aggressors (not being able to justify it under security reasons, which was the excuse for their invasion of Syria after Assad fell last year) and other nations, such of the United States, would draw a much harder line on not permitting them to seize territory from a sovereign Palestinian state, especially since not taking a hard stance against land grabs was one of the major triggers for the last major global war (y'all know which one).

Yes, I do believe the Palestine partition would work *better*, if Israel didn't fuck with Palestinian land. But no solution would have peace as both sides would consistently want more.

The only way there will ever be peace in Israel/Palestine is if one side fully eliminates the other.

And all the money and political support is on the side of the Jews... one of these days, they'll kill of all Palestinians and/or entirely rout them out of their land.

Then there will be a relatively calm peace, but it was peace through atrocity. The writing is pretty much on the wall at this point. If you watch a time lapse video of how Palestine "shrinks" over the years, it's pretty obvious they're about to go the way of the dodo.

One more thing. Benjamin Netanyahu deliberately supports Hamas and has both armed and funded them through discrete channels over the years. Elections seasons, he always finds ways to back Hamas and he tries to hinder the more moderate Palestinian politicians.

The reason being it, is peace is truly the last thing Netanyahu wants. He wants militant Palestinians to go to war with, so eventually he can purge them out of their lands. A more moderate Palestine, who's willing to engage in peace talks with Israel, will throw a wrench in Netanyahu's plans.
