Religious discussion is too much of /his/
/his/ is no longer /his/, and just because the board header has "religion" as an item of discussion, doesn't mean the whole board should be swamped. I'd like it if History was History, so the discussions would be focused.
Anonymous No.18087783 [Report] >>18087784
History would be a lot better if it wouldn't be swept off the catalog too soon by endless vain discussion about religion. That way, topics that were interesting could endure, and pile on, and grow, and not just be either endless Hitler spam or endless Jesus spam.

Ww2 really is the most boring memed overdone war that exists which is why his spams it.
His fixates on death toll. The civilian death toll. The military death toll in WW2 as KIA on the Soviet side was five million. It wasn't a lot. WW1 had more. The taiping rebellion, Napoleonic and Russian civil wars each had 2/3 as many deaths. The number of deaths was not a lot more than other wars that his completely ignores.
The bomb volume dropped in ww2 was a lot less than Vietnam. The bomb volume was less and the air warfare was a lot less. The air to air warfare was limited to battle of Britain and Pacific which his ignores anyway. Eastern front was the worst for air warfare.
WW1 had many more artillery shells fired than WW2. Where the big discrepancy comes in is in tanks.
WW2 had only one large tank battle (Kursk). Because his doesn't discuss Kursk it actually doesn't discuss anything about WW2 at all. It just spams lend lease black cock American bullshit. Hitler spam. Random race spam.
Wikipedia had a edit war to hide Yamato sinking itself.
WW2 just isn't an especially consequential war. No new countries and nothing new happened as a result of the war besides making the cold happen faster. It really had no effect on history. It is of interest just because it's an event his is aware of and his is too dumb to be aware of anything else. Even the size of the war wasn't a lot more than other wars that were more important.
There's no way for his to shut up about WW2 because it's video games and YouTube tards and whatever his watches all day focus on WW2 alone, and not even the interesting parts but just the leaders and bureaucracy, so WW2 spam will continue until mods finally delete this board to prevent your brain activity from falling so low your brain stops sending breathing signals.

How many of those posts in (OP) are about the Bible? The Bible belongs on /lit/, it shouldn't be occupying this much space on /his/. /his/ is more about secular history, than just hyper-focusing on one movement from 2000 years ago and its implications. It is too detailed a topic to be discussed in fine with the other broad strokes of European, and World History.

Religion is good because it annoys jidf.
What his will eventually do is race spam because it's obsessed with black cock. You'll support that because his just can't gobble enough black cock.
Actual historians focus on economics and and his never does because it spams race.

WW2 is the most talked-about piece of history by far, but Christianity (and its offshoots) is easily twice as much a pain on the smaller topics of discussion. If atheists and christians and pagans and muslims and hindus and jews and mormons and every different branch of protestantism was allowed its own containment board, it would prevent /his/ from being swamped.

If /his/ didn't already have a top spot being occupied by a non-/his/ topic, there would be much less shallow discussion of actual History, and even WW2 discussion (being newly in the limelight) would have to develop rather than fight in memes to try to stay active.

Imagine if /his/ was reformed, and there was a new place to discuss history!

It would just be race spam. Hitler spam is just a subset of race spam. There's no evidence Hitler was racist.
What will happen is the mods will deliberately lock down the board and try to create an echo chamber for race spam, then everyone will die of meth and board will be deleted.
Board will not survive to 2027.

Here is /lit/ as well, another burden to be lifted, but not as much as off of /his/.

>spam would increase
NO, I think spam exists because real history has to compete with both religious discussion AND religious spam; if there was room, real history discussion would be able to out-compete the /pol/ spam.

religion is not discussed on /his/. only atheists claiming to be discussing religion/God appears here. they're not religions, and it doesn't matter if they claim they are

This, end of the thread
Anonymous No.18087845 [Report]
People will even double-post threads about religious topics across /his/ and /lit/.

What other major topics of discussion is there even room for today on /his/?
1. Religion
2. WWII
Everything else is a bunch of minor topics.

This all could be solved if the mods forced all discussion into a single general or two but we live in a society.

Imagine how much better both would be if topics were allowed to brine. Imagine digging into a 10-page History catalog and not just finding a bunch of religious shit-flinging. Imagine digging into a 10-page catalogue of religious discussions that each were allowed their own nuances.

They are the loudest of the non-religion posters so they drown out the ones who the board exists for in the first place.

I hate this place with every fiber of my being.

History is not polisci, religious studies, or whatever the fuck haplofuckery and race spam is. Why the actual fuck do we have a "& humanities"? We give territory to bullshit that has nothing to do with history. Why do we even have "history" in the name of the board, when adding "& humanities" just makes this a humanities kitchen sink in practice????

In practice, when you discuss history you also end up taking from other humanities, but you can never ignore history in a history discussion. So why we do that here? Because there's a "& humanities", which allows shitheads to just talk religion without history, which is the point of the board;

Just rename this shit to "Human Sciences" so it at least makes sense. The entire premisse of history + humanities is stupid.
Anonymous No.18088068 [Report]
>>18088055
And this place is supposed to be about history, otherwise we wouldn't take history out of the "humanities" and put it alone at the start. This is a stupid compromise that makes no sense.

A humanities board split as a compromise would be cool, I agree.

they also make like 90% of non religious userbase which makes things worse i for example would be really interested in discussing India history but when thread become innudated with hindutva jeets, pakis and India haters i know its time to go

If an India thread was allowed to sit on the catalog time and again, the spammers wouldn't be able to hold as much of the conversation down. I would love an India thread, but in stead of that there are 1000s of spam posts about India in other places. Also Hinduism never gets really discussed, because it is India-related.
